Would be such a pointless signing. We all know that Spurs being Spurs, he'd probably lose both his legs due to the Jumbotron collapsing on him.

Tottenham set for January rebuild with Schneiderlin, Rodriguez and Albiol all targeted

Mauricio Pochettino is demanding a squad overhaul at White Hart Lane with several big names set to be shifted off the wage bill

And the Spurs board will back the Argentine, with a net mid-season budget of around £20million, which they hope will be boosted by player sales.

Baldini is attempting to off-load Emmanuel Adebayor, Jan Vertonghen, Aaron Lennon and Mousa Dembele – all players they believe could attract significant fees to fund Pochettino’s re-building job.

Pochettino hopes to sign his former Southampton players Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez - with Spurs encouraged by the fact that the Saints have yet to tieFrench midfield man Schneiderlin to a new contract.

Um, those three for 20 mil... Mmokay.

On a more serious note, I am still very reserved about Jay Rod, I just don't see him as being the answer to our woes.

In fairness, they did mention "net spend" of 20 million. They went on to mention Ade, Verts, Dembele and Lennon as potential player sales. So, if we were to raise somewhere around 20-30m from those players, we could probably adhere to that (likely bullshit) net 20 million spend.

I really doubt we sell Vertonghen in January, though.

If he hasn't played for nearly a year, we wont get anything out of him this season, he'll be a passenger

Koeman has said he's suffered a setback and won't be fit before the end of January. I think we can put this one to bed. Thank fuck we didn't sign him last summer.

And that was always the risk. If Koeman is correct, then its not just January, but it will be when he is match fit after that....so March ?, April ?

Hopefully we can get on and sign a different player now we know. No point chasing him anymore. But we won't.

Personally I'm happy about this. Obviously I don't mean I wish harm to the lad, but I just see him as to similar to Chadli. Would prefer a fast, creative winger and a decisive forward rather then someone halfway between the two who doesn't really excel at doing ether.

Yep. I was happy to sign him last summer but this season has really presented the lack of pace, creativity and goalscoring in our team. Hopefully we can get a winger who has all those attributes. I feel Rodriguez isn't quick enough to suit our needs.

Think I told you guys about this setback a month or so ago.... They kept it very hush hush and I thought it may have been a re rupture but thankfully for him it wasn't. Although he has had surgery again.

I personally feel like it could be a bullet dodged. I don't dislike the player or the man, but I think we really need to look at a true quality signing for a wide forward position. Lacazette is my clear #1 choice at this time.
