I think too many are looking for the results from a Youth development policy that ManU got from theirs. What too many forget is that, of all of those youth players that came through the ManU system, only 3 of them could really be considered World Class, Giggs, Beckham and Scholes. What really made them such a success was the fact that they'd been playing the Utd way together for years.

If Beckham was "world class" then so should Gary Neville be classed the same.

I'm not saying this is the case with bostock, but if you take the youth that cones through in brazil for example, it flourishes and keeps coming, maybe because they have the drive and determination that if they don't make it at the top they will drop down or out completely and back to a life that is very different to what the kids will have in England. If a player doesn't make it at a top club in England they can still earn a very nice living at a lower division club. And they get far to cocky when they arrive at big clubs. Obviously not all of them but how often do we here about poor attitude etc.

What is your definition of World Class?

For me a World Class player would be first choice in just about any team in the World. Beckham was just that, first choice wherever he went.

Although Neville only ever played at Utd, could you say the same about him?

poor attitude and most likely thinks he's better than what he really is.

Thats not what alex inglethorpe has he said his attitude since he came back from hull has been brilliant and he has been helping the other youth players

I dont agree when people say world class is someone who would get into any team in the world as it depends on who else is available.... ie would Modric get in Barcas? Probably not but he is world class imo. If Barcelona signed Ronaldo (so have a front 3 of Messi, Ronaldo and Villa) does that mean no other striker can be world class?

World class for me is someone who is consistently one of the best players on the pitch in a high class environment at all levels (ie league and europe)

For me Gary Neville was a world class RB. Over a period of years he was one of, if not the best RB in the world who regularly performed well in the PL, in Europe and for England. Not a spectacular player by any means but very few players got the better of Neville.

I don't really want to get into a religion rant here, but I will anyway

IF there is a divine power why would he give us tasks to do and roles to fulfil? The only thing I truly believe in is that all people are born with a free will and are completely free to make choices to do or become whatever they want in life. Talk like this really pisses me off.

So you think a child growing up in Somalia, Afghanistan or the recently bombed Iraq has the same opportunities as those you are blessed with??

Who gives a toss on what world class is and is not, it's only a word

Bostock was 6"0 at 16 so that would have helped him a lot. Apparently at Hull, he would score screamers but then do nothing else for the whole game, eventually he was dropped and sent back to spurs. He has talent, but not as much as was being hyped. The hype, expectation and natural entitlement (conscious or sub-conscious) that comes with this have all hindered him. Watching him play he always tries to do way too much, when the simple pass is by far the better option. He needs to get his head down and work hard, then we will see what happens.

Personally I don't see him making it, and personally I see him having a carrier in the lower divisions and maybe if lucky in a yo-yo club or something. He really needs to work on is game, because at the moment he is not even close to the best of our youth players.

OK, I can accept that.

The WC criteria was probably a tad simplistic if I'm honest. Mind you, the Barca example is a touch unfair as the team is littered with WC players. Modric would get into the Barca side, but be guaranteed a starting berth? Probably not.

But your point on Neville I take on board and accept.

thats exactly what im saying Ionman - just because a player cant get into the Barca team game in game out doesnt mean he isnt world class, it just means there are other world class players ahead of him. If it was only players that could get in any team in the world then there would only ever be 1 world class goalkeeper

Read what he said.

A child born in any of those places still has free will it's just that if they chose to express it someone will execute them. But they still have free will.

Have you ever thought of joining the church of Jenas Christ? He's a martyr, you know.

Playing in the NextGen/Reserve games.....couldnt be registered for the EL due to his loan from last season (I think).

I'm assuming he'll go out on loan in January if anyone wants him....other players in his position have passed him in the pecking order.
