Apart from the season he's just quite clearly had in the Premiership...where he did very well.

But yeah...Championship level o_O
Exactly people massively underrating him. Alright he's not Keita but he's definitely not Championship.

King has shown he can do it in the Prem, Balde might not have been able to make the transition.

I'm just trying to make myself feel better.

Inevitable now 30 mill on a half season wonder. Reeks of sissoko last year when we could not get the main targets.

I still don't feel like Josh King would be the premier league backup option to Balde. They're not similar players really are they? I see King as more of a central striker than a wing forward.

I was sitting here trying to think about who else we've been linked with that could be similar in playing style to Balde and the only one I can think of, whilst arguably more raw, would be Demarai Gray.

I know a lot of our fans are split on Gray, I'm not, I think he has a huge future ahead of him and would be a great addition.

That said, I also like King and think he'd be well worth adding as depth but for me it would be as backup to Kane, along with Janssen.

1 swallow does not make a summer.

Sissoko had a good euro's?

Vardy?

Kevin Phillips?

There's many more, united flung him out for good reason and dont forget even championship teams were not that keen on him he's just had a spot of luck ending up at bournemouth for me.

Would you honestly want him to come on against Barcelona?

I'd certainly rather him come on than Sissoko or N'Koudou yes.

Don't get me wrong I don't think he's a world beater, but he's just come off the back of a very good season in a very tough Premiership year, so to say he's 'Championship standard' is just daft.

it all smacks of throwing the toys out of the pram because you haven't got the shinier toy you wanted.

Mahrez I'm not a fan of and he's off to Roma apparently.

I like Redmond but can't see us moving for him.

Gray, IMO, is still young enough to be moulded by Poch and is far more talented then he gets credit for from his time at Leicester. He was excellent for England this summer, he can score, he's quick and skilful and I feel he could really become a special player.

How does this work, we supposedly get blown out of the water having bid 17m for our first choice and then grab Gray for 20m+

Players could be higher targets because they represent more value

I'm just as disappointed as everyone about keita but this isn't a stick to beat the possible king signing with

Keita scored 8 of his 16 goals in his last 5 games similar to how king scored most of his goals in the second half of the season, something which many have a problem with but no one gives keita shit for

King is a few years older and probably not as good but that's why he was the 'back-up'

I think it's a case of if he was called Kinginho people may be more accepting

We won't sign King, I'll wager my left nadger on it, it will take at least 25m in this market and we won't pay that and Bournemouth are not desperate to sell.

Are you serious? Tim Sherwood rhetoric? About a Norwegian player? I've read it all. "If King was more foreign, we would have wanted him". NO! If King was far better that's when it would have been exciting.

The 'kinginho' comment is more suggesting he if was more exotic then he'd be more appealing to people, not simply his nationality

I honestly think if he was coming from a club with more pedigree than people would be more positive about this link

Otherwise what is the explanation for him being called a one season wonder for most of his goals coming in half the season and then keita not being criticised for half of his goals in the last 5

Don't get me wrong I'd much prefer keita and am very disappointed it's not happening but king is not a terrible backup if we can get him for a decent price

I believe there is for sure a huge lack of balanced views and assessments in the Balde thread. Absolutely, I cannot believe how all of the sudden everybody thinks he is the make it or break it player. But, the lack of a balanced and factual view on Balde isn't really a very good argument for signing King. I think there can be no doubt that King is the inferior player of the two. Lastly, I do not believe we can get King for a "decent price".

The thing is, Keita wasn't a player that would have been seen as a back-up option in our squad. He is a massive talent that would probably quickly push for a starting spot. He is a player with the potential of being a star player. Josh King has the potential of being a decent bench option... Wow, stop it Levy, you are getting me so excited, I can't handle all this heat!

It speaks volumes of our ambition if we go from Keita to King.
