Bad comparison.
Foyth recently started playing for the first team and is not a starter.
Funes Mori was a starter for River, and had 5 seasons of first team football when he was bought by Everton. He had also won important cups and played for the national team

Funes Mori still wouldn't make our bench more often than not either...

Cheers as ever @Ossie85 (y)
I just meant that Vickery, not myself, had made that opinion about Mori so was just alluding to as good as Tim is, even he gets the odd one wrong.

Right, I wrote those couple of posts whilst I was out and on my phone. Home now so can type a bit quicker.

Interesting opinion by Vickery (his views) - the standard of general football in Argentina and Brazil is going down. All the best players are being snaffled up at a young age and whisked away to leagues that can pay loads of money. Uruguay though is still a country where there is some untapped talent. BUT - there is a club there, who coincidently are also called River Plate who have just changed their name to XXXXXX (can't remember) City and have also completely changed their colours to light blue. The thinking is that Manchester City have now muscled in on them and are basically financing the club somehow. This is now a route for the best talent, maybe even in the whole country, to be monitored by Manchester City.

In addition Man City have just swept up two South American midfield players who are no world beaters at best for about £10m(?) each and have immediately loaned one out and look as if they may do the same with the second.

For your reference - Ossie85

Nice one for the insight into what was said. Interesting and slightly depressing about the City information.

I disagree. The level of the brazilian league is a bit lower that 5 years ago, but the one in Argentina is higher. The Copa Libertadores is proof of that
The River Plate of Uruguay is still called the same and has the same shirt as ever (red/white vertical stripes)
I know nothing about the midfielders City bought and loaned

I know. I meant that it was easier to prove him wrong as it was an 'established' player. He's not wrong about Foyth though. He's nowhere near first team right now imo. At least from the little I've seen, and the little he has played for Estudiantes

Put the money into Mawson, someone PL proven in case we need them to step up to cover for an injury.

Making a football website work in this day and age is hard without resorting to made up stuff.
Football London is part of Trinity Mirror so there will be major pressure on performance.

I like that Ally has gone down the "just the facts m'am" route - it gives them a USP and I presume gets them in with Spurs/access to info. May seem fan like to some, but that's kind of the point. Appeal to the fan base of that club, not football fans in general. There's definitely a trend in serving super niches.

I think people are so blinded by fake rumour news that they don't know real info when they see it. Bit like politics, life, etc

Yet football London isn't considered credible enough to start a player thread in this section of this forum

Sorry River Plate Ecuador - Guayaquil City Fútbol Club. Obviously I wasn't listening closely enough!

So much conflicting information out there it's hard to know what's true.

If Foyth wants us then I imagine a very slightly improved offer will get him.

Maybe he's decided that being coached by a compatriot former CB makes a lot of sense for him.

I know that Estudientes are in serious financial trouble and I believe Veron has put quite a bit of his own money into keeping them afloat. They will, quite rightly, be looking for every penny they can get for Foyth.

Also known as twice the going rate.

Let's face it, we don't know any of the details in this thread. All I know is that for the sort of amount of money we are considering spending (allegedly) then we must see him as a future first team player, or at least an investment.
