I think we could get a bid for Bellingham accepted. Shame about every other Super League club price matching us 5 mins later.

OK, hear me out…

If he signs, when it comes time for a chant, Jude Bellingham goes pretty seamlessly into Smooth Criminal…

(You’re welcome for the brain worm)

This would be absurd. Still getting my head around the fact that this was passed on with a straight face by itk (with the caveat that d1 can get a bit gung ho at times).

I'm definitely a fan of Bellingham. He's a massive talent that could go on and become absolutely incredible and for some reason, I fancy him a bit more because he, at times, resembles a young Moussa in the way he dribbles and runs. The fact that he is as good as he is at this age is very impressive. But is he worth the risk of paying 80-90m? Hell no, he wouldn't even be a guaranteed starter for us unless he successfully transitions to CM (which is where I think his long-term future lies).

With this in mind and from the reports we're seeing I'd prefer we have a look at his younger brother instead.

Wish I could. I‘ll have to grab a beer with the guys and get more than just the back of a fag packet version.

I only have the most tenuous of links to several high ups at Mainz, and I’m certainly not putting personal bias out of the equation. ?

I would probably just go with Dortmund have had their fingers burned in the past financially and switched models as a result.

Ah..not the Mainz man then.

Hope that Trix' latest update could mean JB is the one not in the media. Yet.
(yes Pipe dream etc etc)
There’s certainly not many HG options who play abroad that would be good additions. I still can’t see it tho, price, BVB’s unwillingness to sell and not a forward and that’s who we seem to be targeting.

JB would make sense, the problem is, even if we could do a deal, Liverpool would jump straight in and gazump us as they did with Diaz. No way they let him come to us.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea made a move too.

It's difficult to think of other foreign based HG options though.

Tomori just signed a new contract hasn't he.

Jamal Musiala is the only other one I can think of. Although is he German association trained? Great player but probably another for the pipe dream list like Bellingham, sadly.

Keita/Milner/Ox contracts all running out next summer, Liverpool really short in midfield, they will sign him by next summer
