Rest assured he will never forget that game.
He learned more yesterday than he has all season.
I still have high hopes for him.

For French league read top half of League 1 - bottom half of championship no better than that in my opinion.

it's the Jelly Body Syndrome, i've said it before, he's got the Jelly Body, just compare his body language to King's.
It's like comparing Jelly to Steel.

Exactly, you can't compare the French League with the Premiership!

I think he will come good, of course it would be better to have King +1 but we don't have that option right now.

Dawson was excellent alongside King but no so good in his absence - it may well prove to be that King is the teacher Kaboul needs too.

To be fair though, I wouldn't compare ANYONE to the King that is Ledley.

Yup, Drogba and Essien are terrible terrible players.

Yeah it's not great but it's hardly Championship or Reserve football.

I think he's a good player with bags of potential and, all things considering, he's done a good job. At times, he's looked a lot more experienced than some of those around him. I hope that after yesterday Ramos can go and say to him to keep his chin up... anyway, I was probably more annoyed at the penalty miss - I think I'm right in saying that JD has done that before.
Kabol is one for the future, but would like to see Rocha having a bit of a run.

I'm not sure wht relevence that has?? I didn't say the French League produced bad players, I said that I didn't think that playing in the French League automatically meant you were at Premiership Level!

I'm saying that the League had and has it's good players - and is very harshly done by, by some on here.

They were when they first came to the Premiership, and look at them now. Same goes for Kaboul.

If I had a pound for every time Micheal Essien is wheeled out by people to defend a certain player.......

And Boumsong and Stéphane Guivarc'h set the World alight in the EPL too, yeah?

Not everyone who did well in France is going to do well over here. I still say Kaboul could be a World beater in a few years time. He needs experience next to him, he needs good coaching, and he needs people to believe in him. Right now, he's just potential. He's certainly not the finished article by any means, but you can see the talent is there.

I keep comparing Kaboul to the Rio Ferdinand we saw at West Ham. I was never a great fan of Rio, but you could see he had the talent. Leeds paid over the odds for him, but he became a top player while there. They were rewarded with a top CB for a number of years, followed by a huge transfer fee from United.

Look - I'm saying that Kaboul has had to face some decent palyers. The league is not as poor as people make out.

If you read my point that I posted earlier you'll see that I'm actually not that happy with the chap!

My post was in response to people slagging the French league. It's not "the second half of the Championship" by any means.

But it it's easier to read something completely different to what I'm writing, then please go ahead.

It does have its good players, and most of them wind up playing abroad. The overall standard is pretty poor, though. Derby would probably be comfortably in mid-table.

Not sure what you're looking to acheive here Stoofy.

You start off by defending the French league, stating that Kaboul would have gained his reputation playing against some very good players, then you go back to how you're not a fan. Surely if you're canny enough to realise that the French league really isn't that bad, you're also canny enough to realise that Kaboul has the making of a very good player, and as such, surely we should be getting behind the lad :?

It's just another of those leagues with only several good teams in.

Like the Premiership.

As said by others, I'm all for giving him time, though that's probably because of what we paid for him. If he cost 1m, I think there'd be alot more people saying 'He isn't premiership standard'

And as a defender, he isn't, because he doesn't want to defend. Not sure you can coach a player to do something they don't want to do, so I see Hollywood's future in midfield, or the reserves.

Needs to grow up imo. Far too casual. Atouba got slated for doing the same kind of shit, why is Kaboul let off?

Got a feeling Chimbo will be at CB and Salty on the right vs Aalborg.

Aye... Look at it from a Spanish point of view. They had RCD Espanyol finish 12th last season - the team who were a penalty shoot out from being crowned UEFA Cup winners. They look at EPL, and see teams like Birmingham, Derby and Boro in our top flight. It's easy to dismiss from the outside...
