Yes please.

Ask Carragher, Terry, or any other central defender, what striker is the best in the air, and they will all say Jones.

I'd be happy if we signed him, we need this type of player more than we needed Defoe. But now we have Defoe, and if we could sign Jones, we should sell Bent.

A strike force of Pavlyuchenko, Jones, Defoe, + GDS as an option would be a very good mix imo, there would be possibilities for various combinations and systems with those players.

hes not exactly prolific and from what i have seen of him doesnt have a good footballing brain. no point signing a lump of a forward just to have someone big up front. if we really want a big man up front wait till the summer when crouch will be wanting to leave relegated pompey.
lazy journo just putting 2 and 2 together because harry said he wants more strenght, we'll be linked with sly stallone soon enough on football rumours.com

or, wait till the summer and take santa cruz from a recently relegated blackburn (if they manage to resist citeh this window that is).

I actually like the guy and think he has far more ability on the ball than you guys give him credit for, but I also can't see us being in for him unless Bent is leaving

What is it with this £6m figure lately? Next it will be a £10m bid shortly followed by a £14.5m bid and the Sunderland chairman having a go at Daniel Levy. I'm sure he'll refer to the Berbatov transfer while he's complaining too.

£28 million for Kenwyn Jones and Wilson Palacios? Eek

I quite like Kenwyn Jones but £14m is a lot of money for someone who isn't hugely prolific. He would offer us that big physical presence up front and can probably mature into someone who can be a great partner for a goalscorer (i.e. in the Heskey mould), but is he going to offer us enough to the end of the season to keep us up?

Seems like huge money for these players, but I guess if they were to help the squad long term and that is what it takes to get them (and there is no better options availble) I'd rather see it happen then us go into the second half of the season with what we have already.

He could well offer us what we need to stay up, to be frank we already have more then enough to stay up. if these players come in and do some of the fighting/dirty work that stops us being a soft touch whilst also allowing our more talented players to do what they do best then they could prove excellent additions.

We certainly are lacking a phyisical presence. Jones could help the squad greatly, as a decent hold up man he offers an instant outlet as well as being able to play in the likes of Defoe, Bent or Pav i.e. he could help make any of those better players for us.

Also with his dominance in the air he may finally provide a viable option for those who have the ability to cross a ball. Which would make us more effective from set plays and also help the likes of Bale and Bentley to be better/more effective players as it takes the pressure off them before delievering a ball in the box knowing there is someone in there who can make the most of what you produce (so they don't try to hard to make the perfect cross thinking they have to else it will be wasted)

Palacios, if he offers some bite in midfield and stops us getting dominated week in week out he could have a huge effect. Modric is by far our best player, but clearly needs someone who can do the work in the middle that would allow him to wander, dictate the flow of the game and create.

All of our current midfielders either do not have the work rate or get caught out of postion to easily to allow Modric to roam (without us being torn to shreds) Zokora is a perfect example, he tries hard but constantly strays into a poor postion and can easily be bipassed, he also has no strength or power in a challange 9/10.

Jenas I think is the best of the rest, but he is too inconsistant and we can not rely on having just him plus hopefully Palacios would be an upgrade on Jenas (atleast in terms of performing this role, as Modric is already an upgrade on the attacking side of Jenas' game)

These two may not sound like the superstar signings we as Spurs fans desire, but the reality of the matter is we have signed too many of those so called flair and star players, we do need one or three of this type of player to allow the other players to do what they do best. A team needs some physical presence (especially in the premier league) if these two players provide that I will not even look at their transfer tag (after all how much has Bentley, Bent, Bale etc cost in releation to what they have produced thus far?)

There is no way we would pay £14m for jones lol. He is a decent player and i would be happy if we signed him but he is not worth anywhere near that figure.

Agree!

It's silly money. If we got cash like that use it in midfield and maybe bring in a CB.

I love the way commentators never call him Jones, always Kenwyn Jones :)

That's all from me on this matter, more in depth player analysis later.

Did you know that his first club was called Joe Public F.C in Trinidad & Tobago?

Just thought you might want to know that
