He's adapted to the step up to the 1. Bundesliga quite well. In fact, Koln's defensive record has been outstanding for a promotion climber, and keep in mind Wimmer's played in them all but one. Only the top five sides in the league have conceded less goals than them, and four of those (all but Bayern) are all within a mere three less. Koln just doesn't score enough.

Considering he's also played left back, yes he's decently quick for a big fella.

Can we just buy their whole back 4 then please?

Thanks
G

While i think an experienced signing would be good as we have seen this season age doens't really have a bearing when it comes to making errors/poor decisions. We've seen Fazio, Soldado, Walker and Vertonghen make many individual errors between em arguably more than our younger players. You either have it mentally or you don't. By the sounds of it this guy is a no nonsense responsible player, I like the sounds of him and could be a shrewd signing. Would be very happy with it

Could also be to do with Timo Horn who we are also linked with.

While we are at it, Vogt would look great in our midfield. He's like a German Drago in the midfield. I would guess that he created in a lab somewhere. I think other teams would be Vogt (fōkt) if he were in our midfield pairing.

Here we go, almost from the horses mouth:

@lilywhite_rose: Kevin Wimmer has travelled to London according to FC Koln. The 22 year old Austrian centre back must now be close to signing for Spurs.

@lilywhite_rose: More on Wimmer - coach Peter Stöger told Kicker that the defender had travelled to London to further his position with Tottenham.

Hopefully it's done and announced in the next few weeks, just like Modric was. Would be nice to think that we now have some form of coherent recruitment plan which doesn't leave us having to watch shite sports news on transfer deadline day for nothing to actually happen.

The German Express (which unlike ours is apparently very reliable) says this is fee agreed for 8 million Euros.(y)

Love these type of signing exactly what Mitchell et so should be doing. Spot talented young CBs but not the obvious ones which everyone is clamouring for.

Less risk sounds like he has good base qualities that could be developed. Could go into be a huge signing for us
