Well I guess the source I checked was wrong then. Regardless, writing off a 20 year old for lack of end product is a bit short-sighted. Gareth Bale had 5 goals and 5 assists and Kane a grand total of 3 goals and 0 assists (in the PL) at the same age. I don't know whether Kvaratskhelia has the quality to kick on, that's up to our scouts to determine, but his stats as a teenager are hardly determinative on the question.
Transfermarkt counts won penalties as an assists. That's the difference

I didnt write him off, I saw the stats you mentioned had quite a disparity with what i had seen. Generally, i think people in this thread are a little too giddy over a player who looks flashy with limited end product in the russian league.

Obviously if we sign him i hope he is the next CR7. Ive watched football enough to know the majority of promising youngsters don’t progress, adapt, or have the right mentality to be great. Its hard to make a judgment or have expectations for a prospect like this kid. The next big thing is more often the next big flop in football.

Very raw with zero end product.

Seriously, I'd challenge anyone to go and watch that video again and make a note of how every one of his contributions ends.

Now that's not to say that with a bit a fine tuning with our coaching team, he couldn't develop into a good player.

But on that video, I'd be really wary of spending a lot on him.

Put it this way; if you put Stevie, Lucas or Alli, or some of our own youth prospects, in that game, do you think they'd do better or worse?

Much much worse except possibly Lucas, depending on what day it is. I’ve had the great misfortune of watching the every touch clips of players you listed and most are atrocious compared to that video. If you go back for example and watch Dele vs Madrid, just to pick an example, where one of them scored and everyone, including me, remembered it as beung a fantastic performance, what there actually is, is 90 mins of horrible inept touches, underwater speed runs into nowhere and losing the ball. The every touch videos for him in particular but a few of our own playersare dire and quite shocking when you watch them back uncoloured by the emotion ofthe game. I had to comment due to the last line of your post.

I actually feel a lot better for havung watched that. He looks much more skilful and quick than he did on his compilation videos, weirdly. Gil’s end product is non existent in his compilations - I was really pleased to see him take a good shot the other day cutting in from the right.

Any credible media links to this guy?

Media links, yeah. Credible, nah.
I think most info is from his agent.
The press did ask the kazan manager about his move to Spurs, after a match recently. He said he knew fuck all, speak to his agent.

I wonder what 20 year old Jack Clarke would like like in the Russian league?
:cautious::troll:

I hope he comes good...strange how we ready to give up on a 20yr old...I'm not suggesting you BTW.... just that if he isn't pulling out trees by 19yrs of age we let them go or rate them as flops.

Yeah exactly. Part of my reason for this comment was that some have been writing Clarke off recently, saying we should get rid and I wonder how many of those are clamouring for this kid?

I’d rather pay for the proven PL quality of Sarr at Watford. Sure he’d be much more expensive but he’s a right winger we know can play at this level. It would be much more like us though to go for the cheaper option who then we can’t move on when he’s a failure.

There's something I don't like about Sarr. Good game yesterday but he never seems in full control.

I think EPL experience is overrated anyway. If you've done your scouting properly it shouldn't be an issue

Issue for me is it isn’t like he came through our academy. We’ve already outlayed a large monetary fee in him at 18 years old so therefore we’d expect more. If we give him time and he stays this level we’d lose all of that money we spent

Yeah I get you.... I'd have liked it to work out better by now. For whatever reason he hasn't kicked off as yet. lets hope though that he matures and starts to show some potential thus seasonbe it with us or on loan... I say that..is he even with us still or secured a loan away.

He looks a promising player BUT:

Our only recognised striker is on strike and very likely to leave
Our 3rd top scorer last season (Bale) has left

Other than Son we’ve no other consistent goal creators or scorers left in the squad. That is absolutely criminal.

So yes he looks a good player but we need another current Son and definitely 1 possibly 2 strikers. We can’t afford to keep adding promising players (already have Gil). We need finished articles.

We aren't gonna pay 50+ mill for Sarr who's nothing more then a quick winger with potential, when we can pay 20 mill for a quick winger with potential, and more time to reach it.

I think I’ve found a hole in your plan with us!
