with marca saying arsenal have bidded for huntelaar and english tabloids also saying that they want kalou as well.. it looks likely that crouch will go to spurs while huntelaar will go to arsenal with kalou.

I'm never too sure about these 'Arsenal are skint' stories. I know there's a lot of evidence to suggest they are true, but it's odd how they manage to stump up the readies when they really want someone. I doubt they'll have any trouble meeting the transfer fee, but they could find the reported wage demands a stumbling-block.

If Arsenal come in, it won't. If they don't—he's got to go somewhere, and right now we appear to be the only club in the market.

And I think thats exactly whats going on, i just cant see them not replacing adebayor. And Wenger surely will be allowed to spend 17m of the 35m from the adebayor sale. As sad as it is, i have a bad feeling that he will go there.

As ive said before Walcott has said and is rumoured to be playing up the centre. Therefore i can see them starting with van rapist and walcott up front. They also have Vela who is going to make more of an impression this year.

I can see them using the money elsewhere....

Has Huntelaar ever scored a hat trick in the Champs league ?
Has Negredo ever scored in any big competitive international matches or champs league ?

Here are the goalscoring records, bearing in mind Huntelaar's were mainly scored in a weaker league:

club level:

Crouch 32 in 111
Huntelaar 101 in 128

internationals:

Crouch 16 in 34
Huntelaar 13 in 23

i think arsene wenger is aiming for a cheap transfer window what with them spending a bit on ashavin in january. they will replace adebyor but maybe for some one slightly cheaper than 17 million.

You know what wengers like. he'll get someone for 3 million ( like he did adebyor ) who is pretty good from like the french league 2. And the rest of the money will go towards there debts.

I bet Crouch has way more assists though? Huntelaar is a natural goal scorer but he won't do a great deal more than that. Plus KJH has been playing in a fairly low quality league for the majority of his career.

Crouch will hold the ball up, bring others into play, get flick ons, defend set pieces etc etc

So as much as I'd like both players, I think both have their own advantages and of course, disadvantages.

I was speaking to a couple of Ajax fans after the game on Friday night at Wembley, and they told me the general consensus in Holland is that KJH will go to Arsenal. Ive no idea on what they have based this, apart from the odd rumour we have all heard in the british press. Wondering if any of the lovely dutch ladies here can shed some light on this? Has anything been reported in Holland in terms of a "nailed on" gooner interest in him? Wenger quotes or anything?
