This guy looks fairly decent and at £4M it's an absolute bargain. This guy basically ruled Blackburn's midfield by himself in the Carling Cup at Ewood! Would he join us? I think so. Will he be allowed to join us? Doubt it. Much like Diaby but defensively sound.

Unbelievably right-footed?

I think I read somewhere that Wenger wouldn't let him go because of the amount of hassel it took to get him in the first place.
At 22 with a long contract the Goons hold all the cards, Gilberto is older and nearing the end of his contract so he will be off.

They certainly rate him over at Arsenal-Mania. The one criticism seems to be that he hangs on to the ball a mite too long. The big problem is that Flamini has been playing so well that there's very little chance of Diarra breaking into the first XI, and patience appears not to be his strong suit. He's been accused of thinking more about Euro 2008. They are worried that he will leave, as Flamini is apparently stalling on a new contract.

one of the players who we're linked with that I can see us genuinely improve our team and help us keep the score down!

I can't see him moving till the summer though, that is if he is to leave Arsenal

Well, I can't say I've seen loads of Diarra, but he's naturally right footed from what I have seen. Don't think he's as one footed as Diaby, though that's be hard to do. But if you are a good and clever enough player you don't necessarily need to be able to ping a ball 60 yards accurately with your weaker foot (although that'd be nice). Diarra seems to be a tenacious midfielder who can break up the opposition play then recycle the ball effectively.

He's also seemed to have learnt off Makalele in always being available for an easy pass to relieve the pressure when being pressed. If Zokora is going to be our midfield anchor he needs to learn to do this better - although under Ramos he's improved a lot. I've lost count how many times our midfield get the ball in a decent position then squander momentum by knocking it all the way back to Robbo to punt it long, hoping for some Berba-magic.

I read the Arse fans saying he isn't being patient enough, but I think he is one player that it's unfair to aim that at. If he wanted to be patient then he could have stayed at Chelsea where he's been patient for the last couple of years. I seriously doubt he'd have moved to Arsenal unless Wenger indicated to him that he would be a major part of his 1st team plans. He left Chelsea as he wasn't getting 1st team football and that meant it would effect his chances of going to Euro 2008. So I can understand his lack of patience given he now finds himself in the positon at Arsenal. I just don't think the Arse fans are being empathetic to his particular case and just seeing his issue's as the same for any new young player.

Newcastle just made approach for him according to SSN, pretty sure an ITK said they were interested. And they say there is one other club interested.

If we miss out on him again this time, DC better have Kompany or Veloso lined up instead or I don't know what is going on.

Would be an excellent addition to our squad. He's the player we need currently missing in our midfield. There's no doubt IMO he will want to join us rather than Newcastle, Citeh or Everton. Although those clubs are higher up than us and will probably offer him megabucks i'm sure he'll choose us because:
-We are in London so he doesn't have to move homes
-We have a lot French players (Pascal, Younis, Didier, Benoit and Steed) so he'll at home.
-We are in Europe

Only slight problem is that us and the scum have never the business together for decades.

Woolwich to Spurs

Ricketts, Jennings, Jenkins, Brown :)evil:)

Spurs to Woolwich

Judas, Young, Jennings, Robertson, Hunt*

Just a minor disparity in quality, other than Pat coming back where he always belonged. Diarra might balance things out a bit.

Judas and Ricketts weren't exactly between the clubs. They were more like between the player/agent and the club. Apart from the Jennings i haven't heard of the rest of those players but those deals were before the 90s so it's fair to say we haven't done any business with the scum for over 20 years.

Less a comment on your point, which is quite correct, more an observation on the fact that they've had nothing but quality players from us whilst we've had a load of old tat from them.

Don't forget O'Hara of course.

Kishman, sorry to be a horrible pedant but you probably need to say French speaking because of our 7 French speaking players (there's also Taarabt and Devette to your five), only Kaboul, BAE and Devette are actually from France and BAE is actually Cameroonian.

Steed is from Belgium, Taarabt Morocco, Chimbo Guadeloupe in South America and Zokora is of course Ivorian.
