Inter are a huge club, big financial mess or not, after giving up on Hakimi and Lukaku I can not see them throwing in the towel completely on their squad.

Wouldn't be too surprised if they have a new owner soon and they get back on track. There is just nothing but hope that keeps this rumour alive.

It does happen with these big clubs that get into financial issues, someone comes along and saves them e.g. Villa & Chelsea.

That's why we should have got him before they sold Lukaku.

Looks a good player but I still can’t see where we would play him?

A few peeps have suggested on right but Moura was very good there against Man City and in kind of system we’re playing I‘m wondering if Nuno will prefer having a pacy specialist wide player out there?

Just wonder if we should be looking at forwards who can definitely lead the line on their own and creative players who are comfortable playing wide.

Don‘t get me wrong still an exciting player and if we did get him and managed to play a system that got best out of him would be very happy but looks a little like a square peg in a round hole at moment.
On the off chance that we do get him, he would play up top. Don't expect a carbon-copy of Kane. We'll adapt the system to suit his own style of play.

I think all this 'cheaper' players availability in Europe this summer is a bit of a myth.

The best players are still going for a premium.

50m Romero and around 30m Gill are not that cheap. Don't expect Italian or Spanish clubs to bend over for us. Yes, they are players we would not normally be able to get, but we are not getting them on the cheap.

Maybe you can get average, aging, high wages players on the cheap this summer but why would clubs sell there stars for lower than their market value.

The only difference is that some of these stars are available, where they weren't before.

On a side note I still highly doubt spurs are going to suddenly spunk 60m on a 'back up striker', we are signing within our means and presuming Kane is staying then where would that money come from?

I am still of the belief that we have to sell before we buy, so while there is no news of more outgoings I think it will be pretty quiet. (Hope I'm wrong)

So far we have replaced outgoing players, gollini (lloris future planning, Hart), Gil (lamela), Romero (Toby).

And with bale, Vinicius, rose etc and creative loan to buy deals we have freed enough cash to be more or less about even so far. Nothing has suggested that we will do more than that.

Agreed.

I think the advantage to be gained this summer is not so much that very good players are going cheap but rather that they are for sale at all when they otherwise wouldn't have been.

I think the only possible advantage has been that there are seemingly fewer clubs competing for the same players, but yet there are still enough to cause us problems. The other issue is that transfers typically depend on the selling club finding a replacement in time and that seems to have been very difficult for everyone this year.

And that the big European clubs aren't flush at the moment so those players are within our orbit.

There are so many possibilities around the striker position for us with Son being such a versatile and consistent player. we can go for just vlahovic, Vlahovic + Martinez, Martinez + Thuram or play Thuram as the target and go for a top right winger. With Son the good options are endless in my opinion.

I think goal-scoring wide players will be looked at as much as target men based on how we played at the weekend. So the likes of Sarr will come into play. Hopefully there are a couple of exciting options that we are keeping under our hat like we seemed to be with Lautaro.

From the Man City game it looks like we are going to play a flexible narrow front 3 and a wide CM3. In this way Martinez can fit in any of the front 3. Actually Bergwijn and Lucas are non-traditional wingers that enjoy going centrally too. And this can also explain why we are interested in Nandez, a hybrid of CM and RM.

Inter now going for Thuram

edit:#Calciomercato|@Inter , the last name for the attack is Marcus #Thuram , son of Lilian, del @borussia . The situation

Marcus Thuram, son of Lilian, is the new idea for Inter's attack: the first contacts with Mino Raiola, the player's agent, have already started

there’s also a part at the end of the article mentioning Lautaro Martinez’s intention is to stay at Inter.

For a team that intends to keep Martinez they sure like bidding for other forwards...

Think there might be a twist in this one after the contract negotiations tomorrow.

Wouldn't surprise me if one out of Vlahovic/Martinez comes to us and the other goes to Atletico.

From Martinez side - "We want to stay but want to be paid what we are worth"
From Inter side - "We want to keep him but his contract demands exceed what we are willing to pay"
