Juninho as an attacking midfielder was a joy to watch.
For me anyway.

Not to brag or be petty, I've seen a lot of Brazilian league, and you're probably mistaking 'defensive' with 'physical' or defending your country's league - nothing wrong with that. Also 'fast-paced and physical' shows that you know very little about the Brazilian league. It certainly can be a physical league, at least on a part with most European leagues in that sense - and you wouldn't complain in that way if the striker was coming from Spain or Italy would you?
Don't forget that the temperatures and sometimes altitudes that the players in Brazil play in make them, for the most part, at least as fit and able to play at a fast pace as most PL players.
Juninho was a class apart, brilliant player. Even had the pleasure to meet him a few times and have a drink with him once (he's almost a dwarf )Juninho as an attacking midfielder was a joy to watch.

It's that half makes all the difference!I thought he was quite tall like me . . . . . I'm 5'6 and a half. Don't forget that half.
It's like a midget's convention in here all of a sudden.
So, despite the odds being slashed, the inevtiable square root of FA seems to be happening with this one.
I need to go and lie down.
Who is this Damiao of whom you all speak?
Anyone get the feeling, If he does join after almost 3 years of tracking this fella and 10 gazillion comments, he might just be crap in the EPL! lets be honest, we raved about arshavin, Rebrov, Pav and many others for them to turn out to be inconsistent in the EPL, personally i would be looking at a proven goalscorer in the EPL rather than taking a chance he will adapt to life in our league....there are some good young proven goalscorers in the Championship and EPL, which i feel may do a better job on a more consistent level!!
Sounds very plausible
I remember us tracking Andy Reid for about 4 or 5 transfer windows and look how that turned out
Which Championship forwards though would hit the ground running in the Premier league ?

You couldn't be more wrong about physical. It's basically like touch football over there. Touch a player, get a foul. More so if you're a star player. All I'm saying is, your point that no top strikers have come over to England is correct, but on the other there's a reason why that is! The proverbial 'they don't like it up em' - space is a completely different concept. Sometimes a Brazilian match can have you wondering if the pitch seems twice as big because of all the space available. I think midfielders can cope better than the strikers with this, they aren't manhandled on the regular.
Agree and Inter need to sell now apparently since they have no CL and the league in brazil doesnt really start for a while as they will be playing sunday league football(state championship)Just a thought but if we are going to sign any Brazilian playing in Brazil then it will have to be this window, as NO WAY will any Brazilian move from the summer onwards with the WC taking place next year June. They would want to stay in the vast medias eyesight to stand a proper chance of making the squad. Better to be noticed every week as opposed to once in a while....
