Juande Ramos could look at changing the Tottenham captaincy next season depending on Ledley King's progress returning from his knee injury.

King was skipper at Wembley for the Carling Cup victory in February, one of 10 games he has played this campaign, and lifted the trophy with Robbie Keane, who has taken the armband when the first-choice captain has been unavailable.

The England international has been recovering from surgery last summer and last week admitted he does not know when he will be able to play two games in a week again, which may be a factor if Ramos decides to change his skipper.

"We'll have to see what state he is in next season," said Ramos. "We're going to have to wait for the diagnosis of the doctors.

"We'll have to wait and see if he is here next season. We don't know what the squad is going to be like, and we'll make that decision then."

He added: "I know perfectly well what the situation is with Ledley's injury but that kind of information, only the doctors can give you."

On SS, think from his press conference today. Not a good read

Sell Jenas and Zokora, get about 16 mill for the both of them (give or take).

I really cant understand why people think we'll be selling Jenas or Zokora. You dont sell you're first choice players. You buy better players and keep the displaced players in the squad. you get rid of the previous squad players that will no longer be used. Ie Tainio and KPB

(Yes I know that KPB hasnt had enough of a chance and I reserve judgement but I use him as an example because he is further down the pecking order right now)

Probably a better example would be of King, Woodgate, dawson and Kaboul, you'd sell dawson, and sign Nesta (in an ideal world). therefore replacing the weakest player with an improvement on the other 3 (except Ledley)

Although there were no quotes and apeared in the metro under all the berbatov talk there was a paragraph saying that Ramos is considering removing king as the club captain because he isnot sure if he can play back to back games

LEDLEY KING is fighting to save his career after Spurs chief Juande Ramos admitted: I don’t know if he’ll still be around next season.
Spurs skipper King, 27, has managed only four league appearances all term and will miss the rest of the campaign with a serious knee injury.
Now Ramos appears to have finally run out of patience with the crocked defender — refusing to guarantee him the captaincy or even a place in his squad unless he proves his fitness.
Ramos said: “We’ll have to see what state he is in next season.
“We’re going to have to wait for the diagnosis of the doctors. We will have to wait and see if he is here next season.
“We don’t know what the squad is going to be like, so we’ll make that decision then.”
King has spent most of the last 18 months dogged by injury but recently slammed suggestions that he could be forced to retire.

Dervitte  and Kaboul  as CBs with Woody as a SW.

Only 3 at the back next season. any 2 of Hutton, Gunter, Bale, Gilberto and BAE will all be playing further forward and told to swap wings regularly.

Any 2 of KPB, Zokora, O'Hara the Hudd and Diarra will be shielding the CBs. And upfront will be any 3 of Berbs, Keano, JJ, Malouda and Crouch.

Expect some of the reserves to step up too.

I'm MTU* so you should ake this at face value.

Kompany sounds a good shout. However, I just can't see Ledley being sold, he's supposed to be in the group of the 'five untoucleables'. I don't think the club would let Ramos sell him and I can't see anyone paying good money for a defender that can't prove that he can keep his fitness going and play more than one game in three. Anyway, I think Ledley will come back better than ever.
