They always seem to get off to a good start under new managers, not surprised to see them winning games again. The squad they have is too good not to. Wonder who Potter will target in January to add to the squad or whether he will be told who he can have.
Sounds like they've already sewn up Nkunku and Gvardiol for the summer (****s - Chelsea, not the 2 players... until they're chelsea players that is)

Will they spend much in Jan? Probably.

I keep reading this on here, but I don't believe it's the case at all. He has a release clause that comes into effect next Summer where anyone can trigger it, he'd be nuts to have committed to any team at this point.

Yeah agreed. Surely you’d wait to see where chelsea are and what other offers are on the table in summer. Aren’t city in for gvardiol too?
Would be big if they did get both of them though.

Is that not just hacks playing on the idea of Gvardiol being coached by Guardiola?

From what I understand Chelsea looked at Nkunku in the Summer and did the preliminary medical checks, ie they went through his medical history. From that some journalist put 2+2 together and decided they were buying him and he'd done a medical..... He hasn't!

Another nasty injury for Reece James, shame as he’s a cracking player.

Also bit concerning for him as he was out a lot of last season with a long-term injury as well.

From Shed End:

Potter has to go if we don‘t reach Top 4. What‘s the point in keeping a Kepa merchant who even destroys players like Sterling and puts out formations a drunk Southgate wouldn‘t even think of. Tuchel reached all domestic cup finals and won the CL with that lot and fking Boehly sent him away for a Southgate clone.

"Destroys players like Sterling"?
Maybe it's more that Sterling isn't actually very good and at City was covered by the quality around him.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Sterling is just a slightly better SWP.

Chelsea fans largely didn't want Tuchel sacked at all so It's no surprise that it'll take a lot for Potter to win them over.

He'd started nine undefeated so you would've thought they might be fairly happy with that. Granted it seems they were completely outclassed today but the Chelsea fans are a tough crowd.

Totally agree. Sterling is without a doubt the most overrated player on the planet. Scores a few goals here and there and suddenly he is a world beater.

All I see is a player that run down blind alleys, is weak both physically and mentally, and one that has very little footballing ability. His main trait is off the ball movement which is good and that’s about it.

Yeah, he doesn't even seem to have that pace anymore.
One of his strengths used to be running at people but over the last year or so, that doesn't seem to be working for him either.
Last couple of England games, I don't remember him beating his man once.

Bunch of spoilt entitled brats.
Despite what some have said on here they are never going to be the power they were under Abramovich. They have money, but not money like that. Expensive bad signings will now be an issue, unlike before. They have to get it right first time now.

What’s a Kepa merchant?

I know their keeper is called Kepa, so wondering if means him?

He’d been outstanding for them since coming back in prior to yesterday, not sure who many of the goals were his fault?

Agree regarding Sterling as well, I think he also hampers Kane for England.

I've always admired Stirlings positioning and running off the ball. the issue is when he gets the ball he runs into blind alleys and rarely releases the ball to teammates.

Movement off the ball, getting in positions for goals and constantly making the runs are skills many football fans are very dismissive of.

There's a reason Pep played him regularly and he hit double figures in the league 5 seasons in a row for them. No mean feat.

Like any player he has weaknesses and things he just can't do. It's been mentioned that he's the most over rated player, I'd argue that during his prime he was actually very under rated.

There's a good chance that his time at the top level won't last too long though. His game is about running into positions rather than football intelligence and technique.
