They won’t get ZZ.
He doesn’t speak English and his wife does not want to move to the UK full stop, let alone Manchester.

I honestly think they will wait for Poch to be sacked at PSG. But if it gets worse before hand, they’ll be forced to make the decision.

I think unless they can get Zidane or even Brendon Rodgers out of Leicester now they will get a temporary manager until summer when more than likely Poch will be available.
Its what they did when they appointed Ole and he got a few good results and became permanent, but who would take over temporary I don’t know.

They'll probably end up with Rodgers IMO. I can see him jumping ship from Leicester and the Glazers gladly paying him whatever he wants.

They just can’t defend for toffee and they are far too top heavy.
Who is their defensive coach?
Just what was the point of them buying sancho when he hardly ever plays or Van Beek who actually looked okay today. That £110m plus either Ronaldo or Cavani’s wages could have got them three top grade defensive options and they wouldn’t be in half the mess they are in now.

Ole sacked...

If only there was a world-class, out of work, premier league winning, Italian manager available?

Yeah, he's gone.

Honestly United have played this so poorly. Everyone knew Ole wasn't up to it and it's been obvious for a long time. Now replacing him in the summer was idiotic but to not sack him and go for Conte before we did could come to haunt them for years.

Who can they realistically appoint? I genuinely believe Poch or Ten Haag in the summer was their plan. That won't happen mid season IMO. So who do they go for?

Caretaker will be a no no for me after all that's how Ole got the job in the first place.

ZZ for his incredible record in the CL particularly. Comes with major question marks.

Rodgers is probably getable due to Leicester fans showing signs of dissatisfaction. The owners may be happy to get something for him.

But this is Man United. The biggest club in this country (as we are constantly told). Surely their plan is not to get an ex Liverpool manager going through a turbulent spell at Leicester.

I could be missing someone completely but I honestly think when Conte joined us they at that point had to keep Ole until the end of the season. They missed their chance to get a top manager in now and seem to have thrown their plan out the window.

Still seems to be disagreement about whether they are going to sack him, but surely the only argument is over whether a) he goes right now and they continue with a caretaker, or b) whether he stays until a replacement is ready.

If it's b) then if I was Ole I'd just resign rather than be subject to the humiliation of waiting for the trigger to be pulled.

There surely can't be anyone arguing that he just needs more time.

Just a really badly run club all round. They look rudderless.

Apparently, their first choice is Zidane.

I can see him flopping completely if he goes there.

Cor we played a blinder pulling the plunge on Nuno to get Conte. Could’ve been easy to give nuno a few more weeks and be stuck for a replacement.

I get the same vibe. Feels really disrespectful to say this with what he has won. But is he proven enough?

He has experience of managing massive egos and his first stint at Madrid was really successful but he is clearly a risk. When you consider Conte was available not so long ago and they chose not to go for someone with his record. ZZ is a massive gamble in comparison.

I'd prefer ZZ to another name which might be mentioned as a possible. Poch.

Anyway, I'm loving the car crash for the time being. Isn't schadenfreude a lovely word?
