"By the time she left, 75% of senior management were women."

There is equality for you, they are just more equal!

Not sure why she bemoans lack of equal pay legislation, it is in place it is the enforcement of it which is lacking. The problem with these things is that they invariably end up being about equality of outcome rather than opportunity. There are many reasons why peoples wages differ (experience, qualifications, performance, hours etc) and by looking purely at averages is not the way to do it.

There is a real pressure to do this now or yesterday, but it has to be steady. You are moving from a situation where there were more men in the workplace, men with more experience and that is just how it was. It has to be evolution not revolution, some of these people at the top may have been in their roles for 40 years or so. You cant expect new young women (or men for that matter!) to come in with the same wage despite doing same or similar work.

On asking women if they have children personally don't see it as an issue, the question should be put to men and women.

What is telling in this piece is the ease at which she peddles lies e.g her grades, the presidents club patronage etc and the ease at which she forgets her principles when they suit her; Moyes, Sugar and Sullivan.

Would love it if she did go for mayor. Then all this crap and a lot more will come out. Who would vote for her? No football supporters. Women? Maybe some but hopefully most will see her for what she is an opportunist who might talk of strong women but it is all just lip service.

There’s a great article in the Guardian where they show her to be quite a hypocrite

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...not-going-to-start-now?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I actually thought this was quite a poor article, he is basically going in there with an agenda and writes an article about how she dodges his questions.

Karen Brady lies, cheats and uses every PR move to further her career and she is good at it. She has made herself a superstar spinning every fuck up of her life.

This is business, this is what people at the top do and how they (usually) get there.

They question her about double standards and ethical values but it is pointless. It's like trying to explain to the Italians or the Arges the value of fair play.

Winning is all that matters to her and she is a millionaire, a famous TV star, a female football vice chairman and advises businesses. To be fair to her, she is doing alright, her bullshit has got her far.

Sullivan and gold deserve some credit as well, putting her in as the side show is brilliant as they can take every penny they cam from the club while everyone watches Brady.

If business people lie and cheat then i would hope that the media pointed it out at every opportunity.

True, but it won't change anything. After what happened at Birmingham these cowboys were still allowed to take control of WH.

Bad press and good press like everything else can be bought.

Infact good journalists would show she is doing something illegal, that would be a way to remove her influence.

This type of piece shows us what? She is a bit of a hypocrite, who cares?

Amazing it’s taken the media 7 years to wake up to what utter shysters GSB are. Might see if I can wangle a ticket for Southampton game, should be plenty of spares. :D

Maybe it will stop her becoming mayor or gaining more political influence. Maybe it will put off someone from doing business with her and she loses out financially. Maybe it just fucking pisses her off for being called out as a hypocrite. Maybe it just lets people know the truth of what she is.

All good in my book.

In the Guardian's Gosip section this morning:

West Ham are hoping Jamaal Lascelles is enthused at the idea of playing in a post-apocalyptic environment every other week as they ready a £15m offer for the commanding Newcastle defender.
Hang on, does that mean they're hoping he comes to Stratford or stays in Newcastle? Which post-apocalyptic environment are we talking about?

That doesn't really work when women are still responsible for far more of the labour involved in raising a child, on average, than men.

On average? Are you generalising? Oh eeee gads you can't assume that! Karen is going to come and crush your balls.

Beyond the point of the first period of maternity and recovery time, there is no real reason to say it has to be a woman even if it still remains the "norm". How many people here work with people who have to leave early to pick up the kids from nursery or school? There probably still are more women that to do this but actually I know a lot of people who take it in turns to do it. Companies want to know the answer and so the question has to be asked to both.

Of course there's no reason it has to be a woman, and I fully support families with different arrangements, but it's besides the point. It is more often than not still a woman (and it's worth noting that this persists across different societies and there are more than likely natural reasons for it, but I won't continue poking that particular hornet's nest). Employers know this and will be far more likely to discriminate against a woman for it - she's going to have to have time off both in the third trimester and immediately after birth, she's far more likely to ask for part-time or flexible hours afterwards, is legally entitled to far more maternity leave than a father is, and even if she continues to work full-time is likely to be doing a disproportionate amount of work in the home and raising the child too, leaving her more tired and stressed and less efficient. Whether they're natural or not and whether there should be or not there's differences between men and women and the law ought to take that into consideration, because you can bet your ass an employer just looking at the bottom line does.

To get back on topic though, there's no difference at least among West Ham supporters. Vile ****s the lot of them :D
