Let's All Laugh At... Let's All Laugh At West Ham

The peppercorn rent that West Ham pay at the London Stadium is unbelievable.

This is an older article and amongst other things it shows there is a sting in the tail for West Ham if they win the Champions League, they would have to pay an additional rent of an extra £1 million instead of halving the rent if relegated.

Although at least it shows they don't have to pay for corner flags.

On the bright side the former Olympic legacy venues are being used unlike in some cities.

Also, the money aside, I think the atmosphere and generally unsuitable stadium West Ham are lumbered with will do them more harm on the pitch than any financial benefits they get.

I’ve been to a few games at the Boleyn and the noise they managed to make was incredible. Now most of the noise is aimed at the directors box, which looks like a moat with a drawbridge up to it!

I'm in bandit country today as someone got me a ticket to Saracens vs Harlequins at the London Stadium. Just got into the stadium and passed a popcorn stand: fuck my life!

I’d keep quiet on the popcorn front if I was you as we have had them in Wembley (next to the pick and mix stand, I shit you not :banghead:) all season and I will be stunned if we don’t have that in the new stadium

I don't see why it's such a problem. Surely they only provide what sells and if it does it's because it's what people want. If kids want pic and mix what harm does it do? I for one will prefer to get a proper coffee or a nice craft ale post match than a hot water instant and a Carling.

The key thing is there will be 40k st holders, that's more passionate fans than ever before!

Just looks weird to me when you see a bunch of middle aged blokes queueing up at half time to buy sweets (kids are fair enough, anything that keeps them interested as supporters for future years is good)

In the Guardian's Gosip section this morning:

West Ham are hoping Jamaal Lascelles is enthused at the idea of playing in a post-apocalyptic environment every other week as they ready a £15m offer for the commanding Newcastle defender.

Get the impression that journalist wont be allowed to interview her again lol.

I went back into the comments section early this morning to see any extra but it had been closed, which they do sometimes but
it did make me wonder if someone killed the comments?

There’s a great article in the Guardian where they show her to be quite a hypocrite

"By the time she left, 75% of senior management were women."

There is equality for you, they are just more equal!

Not sure why she bemoans lack of equal pay legislation, it is in place it is the enforcement of it which is lacking. The problem with these things is that they invariably end up being about equality of outcome rather than opportunity. There are many reasons why peoples wages differ (experience, qualifications, performance, hours etc) and by looking purely at averages is not the way to do it.

There is a real pressure to do this now or yesterday, but it has to be steady. You are moving from a situation where there were more men in the workplace, men with more experience and that is just how it was. It has to be evolution not revolution, some of these people at the top may have been in their roles for 40 years or so. You cant expect new young women (or men for that matter!) to come in with the same wage despite doing same or similar work.

On asking women if they have children personally don't see it as an issue, the question should be put to men and women.

What is telling in this piece is the ease at which she peddles lies e.g her grades, the presidents club patronage etc and the ease at which she forgets her principles when they suit her; Moyes, Sugar and Sullivan.
