Stuart Pearce has made a shock admission by revealing he never met David Sullivan or Karren Brady while working on West Ham’s coaching staff last season.

Pearce joined the club, whom he represented as a player, as assistant manager to David Moyes when the latter was appointed boss last November.

He helped guide the Hammers to Premier League survival, but was dismissed along with Moyes at the end of the campaign; Manuel Pellegrini has since been made West Ham’s new head coach.

Pearce joined talkSPORT on Friday morning and was discussing his spell with West Ham, making a shock admission which says a lot about the club’s ownership.

In the seven months he spent at the London Stadium, between November and May, Pearce has revealed he never met Sullivan and Brady, West Ham’s co-chairman and vice-chairman respectively, with the only interaction he had with the owners coming through David Gold.

“I never met Mr. Sullivan or Karren Brady in the seven months I was there,” Pearce revealed. “I never met them once.

“If I owned a football club, or ran any organisation, I’d make it my business to welcome new faces into the football club. The working environment is the training ground.

“Unless they decided Mr. Gold is going to be the face of the board, and he’s going to be the one to come in - and to be fair, he’s very, very personable, and he used to come to every game and pop into the dressing room after games.

“I can’t speak for David [Moyes]… he had links with all three.

“But from a personal view I never met two of the three in the seven months I was there.”

It's weird because I know of course everyone wants to get the best players they can, but I always feel West Ham try so hard to be so much bigger than they are in regards to who they look to sign.

In saying that I have no idea what sort of level Pastore is at now.

Suprised at karren, she usually makes it her business to meet all the players

I’d suspect he’s knackered if he ends up there.

The club, from top to bottom, including fans etc, seems to be the most deluded in the English game.
Talk of Champions League regulars, then trying to link themselves to big names etc, which I’m sure is just to get their name out there half the time.

A lot of them talk about their club as being on a similar level to the current big six. It’s beyond mental.
I’m not sure they have any concept of how the sport works, League tables, trophy cabinets, good players, results etc

They think Marko Arnautovic is world class. 11 goals he scored last season. 11 goals...

Looks like Pellegrini got mugged in Chile. Good practice for when GSB mug him off with their promise of the 'war chest.'
