Watching Sakho defend is pretty funny stuff. Hard to believe he was the next big thing, always used to turn out great on FM.

He is Skrtel Mk 2. If I were a Liverpool fan I'd run behind the sofa everytime he got the ball anywhere near the goal, either goal.

He was superb last night

Exactly, like Skrtel he will have a handful of good performances that will make him the best CB in world football, forgetting about the other 42 performances where he looks like Bambi on ice.

Throw in Mignolet, Clyne & Moreno they are all a calamity waiting to happen.. there all bloody awful.. can't see any of them having a longterm future under Klopp..

Sigh.

We've finished above them 6 out of the last 7 seasons. We are 17 points ahead. These are facts that clearly indicate we are better than them across all fronts. They are improving sure, but the way the question was phrased and presented suggests th OP is suffering from a very jerky knee.

Rather pointless question based on one game. Dortmund did not play at the same level yesterday as they did against us. Liverpool have nothing to play for in the league so can put out a full strength side against Dortmund. Poch made a calculated decision against them which did not come off, although we need to wait until the end of the season to see if playing a weakened side was the right move

But next year!!!

Management!!!

Players!!!

Spending money!!!!

These are all brand new arguments. I bet you've never ever heard this before. It's a totally new concept.

Next year's their year. You heard it from me first. That's a quote. 100% original.

Something must have triggered you to pose the question, and you did that straight after the Dortmund game.

The question is why didn't you ask is last week when they got beaten by Southampton? :p

We're better than them this year......and when we finish above them it will be 6 out of the last 7 years we've finished above the mighty Liverpool.

We're better.

We laugh at Liverpool's victim culture' and yet every time something good happens to us we are convinced it will be taken away.

Liverpool in particular have been overtaking us every year for the last 5 or 6 and yet. . .

Liverpool, Arsenal , Man City, Chelsea and Man United will all be looking to spend big this Summer. There aren't enough top quality players to go round for all of them to do so. Liverpool will be at the bottom of that particular totem pole.

Klopp may well be a decent coach but he will be competing against Poch, Pep, Conte and possibly Mourinho so I don't think he is suddenly going to transform them in to world beaters. Will he be able to pick the players? Will he be able to get those players? Will he be able to get those players coping with the Prem?

I think we are well placed to do well again next season with a years extra experience and keep the togetherness and team spirit that has served us so well this season.

so no, I don't think Liverpool are better than us and I don't think they will be next season but of course it is the unpredictable nature of the Prem that makes it so marketable so who knows!

Instead of who in our starting 11?

Are you saying we don't need two strikers capable of rotation, starting together or coming on from the bench?

It's not a question of 'instead of' it's a question of complementing someone in the squad. We have no other striker who can play as a genuine starter outside of Kane so having another top class striker is essential.

Ditto for Coutinho, he would swap in for Lamela, Eriksen, or Alli depending on the circumstances. I don't believe Chadli/Son/Njie etc have been anything more than substitutes or cover for injury this season whereas we have needed another AM who can really influence a game.

I thought you were saying you'd want them for our 'first 11'

Anyone making predictions about next season are foolish. I remember for the last 2 years everyone shitting their pants about the signings Liverpool were making and look how that turned out. In saying that Leicester Fucking City are about to win the league so literally anything is possible.

Strange thread.

We lost to Newcastle, Norwich beat them. Are Norwich better than us?

We are better than Liverpool at the moment. The league table doesn't lie.

Will we continue to be better than them? Well that depends whether we keep our team together and make the right signings this summer. If we do they have some catching up to do. I've no doubt they will improve in Klopp's second season and we shouldn't be so arrogant to assume they won't be one of the teams pushing us for the CL spots, but right now we are clearly better than they are.

We've finished 6 of 7 seasons ahead of liverpool. Becoming a chant in here. Reminiscent of they had 2 points from 8 games when i took over.
