Pessimistic post :cant see us winning this one.. whenever a side needed a rejuvenating result over the years, we usually oblige.

No Jan, no Danny rose... our defense is not as reliable as it can be- up top 1 goal( a pen) in the last 2 games vs sunderland and boro .

hope im wrong

I'm trying, but I don't see this one going well. Think we'll lose; just hope we compete properly.

I think we will score that shouldn't be a problem as Liverpool won't sit back like Sunderland and Boro. We will go 4 at the back with Dier and Davies which will be solid enough. I think we will win.

I will go 1-3 Ali to continue his run.

Also why do we as fans think the other team will be more up for it than ourselves? I do this too I'm not having a go. We should look at the flip side, we're second and I'm hoping our players are gonna want every opportunity to stick with the pace. They will know how badly they let things slip last season.

I watched the whole Liverpool game against Hull and defensively they they are a complete shambles, especially from set pieces. They hadn't 70% odd possession and still lost 2-0. Game plan for us should be control the first 20 odd mins, press had and retain the ball. We will get a good few chances in the game.

I think that this team can struggle against teams that play possession football, especially on wide pitches so I predict a draw. If Lovren starts for them then we win 4-1.

From F365's friday "cheeky punt" section:
Liverpool v TottenhamI don’t care about Liverpool’s record against the top-six teams this season. I don’t care about ‘Fake News’ or the fact Liam Gallagher is now 44 and still a cock. I just care about Spurs and the fact those lovely camel coats have them at 5/2 to win at Anfield. That’s the team with the best defensive record in the country – and Harry Kane and Dele Alli up front – to see off a Reds outfit who have been a complete f**king shambles since New Year. This is a team who look to have collectively run out of steam and who can’t summon the energy to play their gaffer’s favoured high pressing game. 5/2? I’ll s**t em.

Betting: Tottenham to win at 5/2 (Betfred)

Perry Groves on talk sport this morning saying that Liverpool can't just turn this round, they may put a shift in but it ain't that simple, they used to press as one unit now because their confidence is low their defence drops a little bit deep leaving space in front of them which the likes of Deli will capitalize on.
I hope he is right.

High hopes for this one, and I think 'Pool will be sweating on it and trying just bit too hard to win it, which should play into our hands.

Interesting note, for the second week running we are the game on NBC (as opposed to the NBC Sports channel). A few years back I had to scramble to find a way to watch them play, now I can DVR the complete game if I need to and watch it in glorious HD.

The bin dippers have had all week to prepare for this one on the back of a disappointing defeat at Hull and every man and his dog in the media having a pop at them. They will be extra motivated to shove one down everyone's throats, so this isn't going to be easy. I expect them to come out of the trap like a rabid dog, and if we can contain for first 30 minutes then I believe it could be ours for the taking

Might be a big mistake if they do. We'll see. IMO it's absolutely crucial that we don't fuck about at the back with Lloris and the back line playing Russian roulette.

I think that Liverpool will come out with all guns blazing but they have had difficulties against defensive teams of late.
With Verts and Rose out, I'd reckon that Poch will play four at the back with Victor and Mousa supporting the defence.
Our plan would probably be to absorb the Pool attacks and hit on the counter when they start to tire towards the end of the game.

I'm expecting a draw but wouldn't be surprised with a close win for us.

The way City came at us and 'over-performed' a few weeks back, may well work in our favour. It'll be fresh in the memory, and we will not want to make the same mistake as we did then and assume we just need to turn up because everyone made us favourites. I think Poch will be aware of this. If we just play our game, everyone put in a shift, then we will probably wear them down and get a result.

Thats because NBC does an absolutely stellar job with the PL and truly gives it the focus and attention it deserves. Thank god they won the contract a few years ago and thank god the won a new 6 year contract last year. At least 6 more years after this one is brilliant. You can always find the games live, whether on tv or streaming. The next step is getting a 2nd 10 am game on tv full time and bumping paid programming on CNBC or SVU re runs on USA. Alot of times they have a 2nd 10am game on(maybe even most) but not all the time.

Their other programming outside of airing the games and the pre and post game shows are also good. The goal zone and MOTD shows are pretty good, Men in Blazers is hysterical and Roger Bennett's documenteries are fantastic.

That said, if we bottle it tomorrow on US national tv, i will be very upset. Yet I fully expect us to fuck up here somehow.

As it stands. We are a better team than them. It'll be all about attitude. We play like we usually do. We win.
