Do we think he will stay next season?

I think our performance in the CL will be the icing on the cake.

He won't win trophies with us and is nearly 30' he will be gone next summer and I don't blame him.
Not 100% convinced the new contract changes anything but it's incredible news and show just how much our players believe in Potch and the project, gives me a warm feeling.

Excellent news! He has been a revelation since he came: a real class act, true professional and ricidulously agile shot stopper. He is undoubtedly a huge part of the reason we have stopped being a soft touch. I just really hope we can win something with him as captain as there is no one I can name that deserves it more.

And the Guardian has decided he's the 40th best player in the world. Just that little bit worse than Busquets. And much less good than Harry Kane.
Busquets is the best defensive midfielder in the world, so I don't see what's so crazy there tbh.

His distribution from kicking is the biggest weakness in his game by an absolute mile. Maybe not quite as bad as that example, but it's the only thing that lets him down.

Read somewhere that he has the highest pass accuracy of any keeper in the league

Well, as I point out every time I'm given a chance; he's in the top 10 for passing accuracy for goalkeepers both for long and short passes in the four top leagues in Europe, so it may be his biggest weakness, but it's something he's very, very good at.

Yep. His issues in this area are ridiculously over exaggerated.

He might be average with his feet compared to, say, Eriksen or Alderweireld, but relative to other goalkeepers he is elite. That's all that matters really.

Wouldn't that be because they actually go to his man? If that is the case then, fine but it doesn't take the fact the even though the ball goes to his man it still put the player under pressure. I don't think his passing is the issue, I think his choice of passing is

As Josh has pointed out, that stat doesn't consider the bigger picture. Just because it is accurate doesn't mean it's the best pass. Particularly as most of his passes are short passes to the corners when our full backs, or Verts/Toby have dropped down to collect the pass and the majority of keepers will hoof a ball long.

He has a tendency to pass to players and put them under pressure, when another option is on, and his mid to long passes are pretty weak in terms of accuracy.

His accuracy isn't weak compared to all the other keepers in the four top leagues.

When it comes to him often putting others in trouble, it's a bit too subjective. I doubt any of us have time to be going through every match and make stats hightlighting how many times every keeper puts his defenders under unessesary pressure.

I see it at very, very rarely; others obviously have it down as a huge problem.

Just glad we could dispel the myth that his actual kicking is a problem.

The only problem he has is with his right foot. He'll be in difficulty when his team mates forget about that and play the ball back to him on the wrong side.

How is that different from any other keeper?

He does put the players under pressure, but it is a clear tactic used by Poch. If he goes short the opposition push up, but only the attacking front. The rest of the team cannot afford to push up. This then causes a massive gap between the opposition attack and midfield/defensive midfield. Ultimately leaving a spurs 7 vs opposition 7/8 making it easier to attack. I don't think this tactic should be used at 1-0/2-0 with 10 minutes to go however.
