Tim Sherwood

Rating his squad:

‘I couldn’t tell you my best team, and I don’t know whether that’s good or bad. I have assessed the players more than anyone and I could not tell you the best 11 at Tottenham. They are all so similar; much of a muchness regarding quality.’

How right was he.

Treated terribly by Spurs fans.

Levy would never have given him the job full-time because he would not have taken any shit from Danny Boy and wouldn't have been fobbed off with players that he didn't want.

Sherwood couldn't tell the difference between the role of pundit and manager.

He'd see every microphone as his cue to open his gob and try and impress people with big statements.

He'd get a few plaudits from bored journalist for being "refreshing" sure, but ultimately was never going to build unity with his players. Without that you won't get anywhere.

He just wasn't credible, bright, or skilled enough to get a team to believe in him.
