Southampton players said that he speaks very good English so you're wrong.

Are you an English teacher by the way?
Nope.
But since football-lingo is universal, I'll put his language skills in a context we all can understand.
They are the linguistic equivalent of Harry Kane's goalkeeping abilities.

I very much agree with the "stop pissing about" approach. But the problem is we were told that Poch could turn the existing squad around and I think he's said as much himself. I think Poch has started his Spurs career the way Moyes started his United one - too timid, too much wait-and-see, too much status quo. Things haven't changed much from where AVB left off, and I was fully behind AVB's departure. I reckon Poch will get at least the length of time AVB had, but then AVB finished 5th in his first season so there are no guarantees if the Liverpool/West Brom/Newcastle games are a harbinger of more to come.

Poch needs to dominate this club and own it, or fall on his sword trying. It's been a very disappointing start and while it would be ridiculous to call it anything more than a 'start', he'd be very naive to think he can just languish around the lower half of the table playing cautious boring footy with almost no goal threat and not have any knives come out. He said he'd deliver dynamic attacking footy and he needs to choose the players who deliver this, and drop the ones who don't. He needs to shake it up, like playing a strike partnership at home against weaker sides. But I have reservations about his rigid adherence to 4231, his appointment of Captain Kaboul, and the lack of game time for a former goal-machine Soldado.

I hope he turns things around because he has the potential to get things right. And if Levy had a calmer head on him, you'd be a bit more relaxed. But we haven't been an attacking force for over two seasons now and we've sacked managers for finishing 4th (twice) and 5th. Poch hasn't exactly set off at a trot, let alone a sprint. We're sauntering around and giving the likes of Newcastle and West Brom - whose managers were under desperate pressure - a potential pivot point in their seasons.

Hopefully the next league game isn't against a side in need of pivot-point result to change their fortunes....
What do you base that on? His time at Espanyol where he quit at the first difficult moment or him time at Saints where after Xmas they went missing for large parts? Sorry but I see nothing on his CV as a coach to be filled with optimism for the future. He has royally screwed up on the few big decisions he has had to make so far. Kaboul as captain ffs, I know I keep saying it but wtf was he thinking appointing him.....

You do realise if he does well for us, you're going to look like a complete idiot.

You're already half way there because you're saying "wtf was he thinking appointing him" after a few months and a couple of dodgy results. Quite childish as well TBH

Wasn't there ITK suggestng that Poch has been given the OK to start upsetting players? Possibly he's given them enough rope to hang themselves.

Don't know why, but for some reason this has put me mind of the famous Monty Python Spanish Inquisition sketch.........

"Ok. Poke them with the soft cushions".......

"So, you think are strong because you can survive the soft cushions?...........put them in the comfy chair".

I pray to god he makes me look like a utter ****, I really do. Nothing would make me happier than for him to make me look a fool and people requote my posts months/years later. I won't hold my breath......

Quit at the first big moment with Espanyol? He was there for almost 4 years getting them to do well despite losing his best players every transfer window and having no financial backing.

If I was a Villa player or fan, the one fixture I'd want next after such a disastrous run of results would be at home v THFC. My second choice woud be away.
The following has applied, all too regularly, since around 1968:
Haven't won away since March? - Welcome to WHL.
Haven't kept a clean sheet in 10 games? Don't worry... Spurs are coming to town.
Your striker hasn't scored since August? Never mind, you're at Tottenham next week.
Etc., etc.

The title of this thread should be changed too "Another article stirring up supporters with misleading statements and no quotes to back them up - from the Telegraph"

Southampton players must have been hearing something different. I hear him multiple times per week (post match interviews and pressers) and his English is dog shit. If it's not simple, he can't do it.

I can't say I'm surprised, he's not been here long, but I think we've been misled somewhat by this 'perfect English' stuff that was going around in the summer.

Probable. It's in a newspaper's interest to stir up and try to build pressure on a manager, once he's gone they can run several articles criticising Levy, us fans and the club as a whole.

For goodness sake,

[repeated comment] Casual english to the players is a lot different to speaking to the media in a more pressurised environment [/repeated comment]

I don't follow your comments around mate. If you said that before, great, but it's kind of irrelevant, since that's not what was said in summer.

Wasn't my repeated comment. It's the same thing that's been said by 100 others but still ignored by some :)

The moment I saw Matt Law had written it I suspected it was bullshit.

You really are self appointed forum police at times. Just because it's not been seen doesn't mean it's been ignored you berk.

Jesus, calm down. OK you haven't seen it, but it should still be fairly obvious anyway.

I'm afraid, as part of the self-appointed forum police, I'm going to have to apply for your banning because you called me a "berk".
