Im with you clinging onto this
Yeah doesn't look good does it. Its a shame as Gold did mention we had been looking at him several times but maybe that changed with Richarlison? Not sure why it would tho. Honestly will be pretty annoyed seeing him go to Newcastle. Him and Bruno are far too good players to be playing for them. I know it sounds bad but im kind of hopping Arsenal come in an overpay for YT. Just a shame, would have been the perfect addition to our business thus far.

I’d love the guy, but aren’t there reports Lyon want like 70-80M for him?

I think that’s just totally unrealistic for us at this position given the rest of our business.

But if we make some sales then maybe we could have that cash.

Richarlison - £60m
Spence - £17m
Bissouma - £25m

Just over £100m on transfers should Richarlison and Spence go through. We should still have funds left over right?

This might depend on if we shift Lucas, although we would probably opt for a pacy dribbler like Diaz or Raphinha.

I thought we're talking about Lyon selling to Newcastle for 55m no? As you were if not.
I was on about Lyon asking for 55m euros. Paqueta ain't worth that. Ludicrous price.

I thought you meant Aulas runs a disgusting regime over there lol. However it appears we were onto separate things, although I do agree Newcastle's regime is far more disgusting.

He is worth it,imo. I dont see us getting him for less than 40m. He would fit us so much better than the rumoured Tielemans. Other than Gold stating that we were monitoring him, there isnt much to show that our interest is there. But i hope he truly is on our radar because he is a great player for CM3 and a number 10 role.

Agree. £50m should do it. Perhaps Levy is shying away from Lyon, after getting rinsed on the Ndombele deal, but these two players are in a different class. I'd be happy with £44-50m in a deal that sees Ndombele going the way.

Also for those concerned about Ndombele mk2, on the flip side there’s Bruno Guimarães who has looked fantastic and honestly would have loved him here.

We really should be going for him if he’s available. For the money quoted he is totally worth it and could easily become a key player for us.
give them Ndombele and tell them to keep the change, home alone style.

Because I’ve seen a few people in different threads asking about him and maybe one or two misguided analysis of his ability I figured I’d post this rather good write up. It is from the 2020/21 season so one must take into consideration he’s really stepped up from this point and become the main man, but it’s a good detailed review of him. It doesn’t take much to realise why he would fit in a Conte system and what he would bring to the table.

Need to stop agreeing with each other on every transfer post but I do just think he’s such a perfect fit for us.

What do we need from the next midfield signing? A truly creative player capable of moments of magic against a low block, someone capable of covering both for Kulu and capable of playing as part of a midfield 3, someone technically elite (as we still have a bit of a dearth of these players), but all whilst being tenacious and fit enough to play in Contes system and experienced enough to make an immediate difference.

Paqueta fills all of those needs. Can come in straight away and make a real difference in several positions of need, and has a completely different profile to anyone else in the squad.

Given how much we’ve saved on the WBs (assuming we get Spence), I see no reason not to spend 40/50m on Paqueta .
