This game is about more than football - it's class warfare, a battle between the privelaged who've had it all handed to them on a plate and those who've had to overcome adversity to fight their way to the top.

On one side we have the son of a farmhand, born into poverty who, as a man, a player and a coach, had to graft his way up from humble origins to get to the very top. His opponent is a the son of a football agent, born into affluence with a silver football in his mouth. He went to the best academy, played for one of the richest teams then took over an already successful team as a manager. Guardiola has spent life being a parasite on other people's successes, from Rijkaard to Heynckes. Hailed as a genius for winning trophies when he had some of the world's very best players in his team. Whereas Poch took over a team heading for relegation, on a shoestring budget. He was set up to fail as much as Guardiola was set up to succeed. But he didn't fail. But still he's had to prove himself more, which he has, first at Southampton and now Spurs.

And this battle extends to the clubs. Spurs have had to work their way up, spending the money they make. While City have had oil and gas money pumped into them to pay mercenaries obscene wages to play for and manage them.

We must give hope to the underprivileged people from around the world so they can believe they can make it in life with hard work, dedication and a couple of good breaks. Let's smash these c*****!

Come now. We're owned by the bloke who teamed up with George Soros to short the pound, drive it out of the ERM and make a fortune. We have the 12th highest revenue in global football.

This is a battle between two megabrands.

I have a bad feeling about this match.
Bad timing imo. Pep will have them up for this match, after our result last fall, and the 4-0 drubbing last week.

Having said that - massive opportunity for the lads to step up and really announce they are ready to compete for titles.

We're going to smash 'em!

Every game in this league is a test, there are no easy games, but everything about us at the moment screams confidence and invincibility, I see this as not much a bigger test than West Brom last week - it's all about US, if we turn up , we win

As much as I got a tingle reading this "braveheart" speech, we are hardly Wimbledon.

Literally zero idea what the outcome is going to be. Don't know if I'm confident or not. My head and my heart says we should win if we play like we can. I just feel that maybe we're due an iffy performance... dunno.

I don't think we'll perform badly, you don't have to be playing badly to concede goals and my only worry is that Man City for a few years now have had that ability to just score out of nothing with the players they have. Like @Mr Pink said I think if we weather a potentially frantic early start it could be important as it may also quieten the crowd and get them restless whilst frustrating the players a bit too.

If football was a simple game you'd have your money on us but we all know that's not the case and it makes it a tough call. Admittedly a lot of us probably went into the United game thinking we'd win and it was one of our if not worst league performance of the season, although I'm not sure we played our more accomplished 5 at the back formation then. With this setup I'd like to think those drab performances are being filtered out.

That feeling I had that we would beat Man City in October, Chelsea and WBA this month unfortunately I dont feel now. I anticipate that we wont get 3 points because Man City will rise to the occasion because of wounded pride etc and the fact that everyone including the media expect us to win. We are Spurs you know!

Everyone calm down! Paul Merson predicts a City win so we're fine!

That actually really makes me feel better. I genuinely laughed when hull came back to win last week after all that shit he said about their manager not knowing how to dig in because he is "forrin".

Ok I'll call it.
1.3 Spurs win.
I can't see their shit defense keeping out Kane, Alli and Eriksen.
Equally I can't see them winning the midfield battle with Wanyama and Dembele in there.
And our defense is one of the best even without Jan so can't see us losing.
A draw possibly but not a loss.
We're not that weak Tottenham of old anymore. We get first goal they'll crumble. If they get it it wont affect us in the slightest.
Have faith :)

If we do win today it will be the biggest statement so far, people are predicting us to win but if we lose they will revert to kind and assume nothing has changed with us.
A win away at a wounded Manchester City with all the expectation on us will actually be massive.
