But that in part is because we expected to bully Cardiff and the fact that they played to frustrate didn't help us at all. None of the games in March are going to see us going up against a team looking to contain us and I think that'll help.

I agree and I'm looking forward to the games a hell of a lot more than the recent ones, for that reason.

Yesterday was weird in that both teams appeared to accept a 1-0 scoreline, us for the 3 points and them for the goal difference, they still barely tried to attack when they were behind.

It reminds me of the time post FA Semi Final when Redknapp was in charge and we thought we'd fucked it but then beat Arsenal and Chelsea in a week.

I'm looking forward to the away games a damn sight more than the home matches as we are literally stinking the place out currently - not helped by a fanbase that's lost it's repertoire of songs now that the y-word is outlawed.

Hope more than expectation as far as March goes.

We'll probably do OK in a couple of games, not so good in the others. Either way I'm almost certain that we have next to no chance of finishing top four. Think Benfica will probably knock us out as well.

On a more serious note, if I can try and think of some positives....

Chelsea and Liverpool can't keep on winning constantly. I believe we could come away with a point at Chelsea and maybe Liverpool too. Arsenal have got just as hard a month and if they lose their games, you never know, especially if we beat them. I can't really see any of the above happening but it's possible if we start performing like we should.

The main thing is to beat Arsenal. If we do, we're 3 points (4 really, including GD) behind, so even if we lose to Chelsea and Liverpool, they could easily lose to Chelsea and City. If we beat Southampton we'll be level on points cos their match at Swansea has been postponed. So it's very conceivable we could be level with them by the end of March having played a game more. And that's with losing 2 games.

Yesterday was almost funny it was that bad, the crowd around where I sit were in a better mood than they had been for almost the entire season, but you sort of had to be just to get through it.

If I'm honest I would just like to fast forward to next season.

Fair enough.

I have an understanding of what you mean but fast forward to what?

I'm scared of what might happen if we fail to get UCL again or win a trophy.

I still hold out a bit of hope for this season, result wise.

Chelsea (a) - Loss
Benfica (h) - Draw
Arsenal (h) - Draw
Benfica (a) - Loss
Southampton (h) - Win
Liverpool (a) - Loss
.

So I'm saying 4 points but I would like us to at least draw with Chelsea & Liverpool so I'm hoping for 6 as a minimum

If you turn that last loss into a draw and I think you may have nailed it...

And that my friends will be a very good month for us.

since sacking AVB this season has become one long dead cat bounce for me - just beat the Arse and I will
content with that
