It's quite easy really:

If he has decided to leave Bayern - we have a chance of getting him. Transfer amount is doable, wages is also within range.

He is a sort of reject from one of europes top 3-4 team.

We are probably amongst europes 14-15 biggest club. That should in theory be the level he seeks right now.

So if we want him, only a handful teams should/could stand in our way.

But it's not for certain that we want him. And its not certain he wants a move to England or us.

Personally i get the feeling he could be the next Shaquiri. Good, but not all that.

I would still be happy if we got him though as It would show our ambition and intent.

Hasn't ITK pretty much knocked this one on the head? I'm not sure where the excitement comes from.

The only similarity between him and Shaquiri is they both have a tendency to put on a bit of weight if not playing. Shaquiri was always a showboat player, selfish never passes, always shooting.

Gotze at Dortmund was extremely intelligent and a top team player, as well as being extremely creative.

2 signings of the highest quality for Dortmund. In a way I'd love to face them next season to make amends for the 5-1 aggregate last. Didn't do us justice at all.

Look, I wasn't comparing qualities (but I see now that it can be read that way), just that Goetze would maybe turn out to be a good player instead of great. Just a personal point of view after he failed/didnt get a chance at Bayern and how he didnt perform during the euros...
