Harry Harris would love nothing more than to start a new round of mud slinging at spurs right now and the book will no doubt fill column inches at the red tops.

Be good for Jol to get his side of the story across but i suspect that the impact on the club may be negative. I hope not.

Yeah Jol was so hard done by, the poor fella, i'm sure he was only talking about nice things like holidays with Newcastle and Ajax

:-?

I'm with you nicdic. He's just walked away with a £4 million pay-off. He should keep his thoughts to himself.

Jols a legend, should be a good read. The way he was treated is it any wonder he'd like to get his point across?

Cannot believe people are calling him a failure. During my 26 years as a fan he is the best manager I have expereinced us having. His record was superb up until the beginning of this year, when the board undermined him and the players showed an appalling attitude. If anything he over achieved at the beginning of his reign which led to inflated and over ambitious aims from the board and media. And also the fans, most dissapointingly.

With the players we have in our squad we are at our best the 5th best team in England. We are still a fair way off 4th. Whether that be under Ramos or Jol. We just do not have the players. Commoli should have been sacked as well if the board felt that Jol was not good enough.

Spurs fans fickle? never...

26 years eh,

i am surprised that a man of your knowledge could speak so much tosh!

jol a legend, for what?, perhaps it was for endless tactical screw ups in games that mattered.......or maybe his negative tactics away from home.......or just that he openly touted himself around for other jobs while proffesing his undying love for all things tottenham hotspur to you & i!!!

you will be saying sol campbell is a legend next an all!!

26 years a supporter & you think he is a legend :bang:

nothing ill informed at all

if daniel levy says jol touted himself around then jol did

why do i beleive levy?, well it seems very easy for people to beleive every word that ever comes out of jol`s mouth does`nt it, so whats good for the goose etc, etc

so i can not be "ill informed" as you say, because i simply have the same information as you & choose to beleive the chairman instead of our ex manager

secondly to say that you have supported tottenham for 26 years in one breath & in the next say martin jol is the best manager we have had in that time is sheer folly (or tosh).........keith burkinshaw anyone!! (he actually did some winning of silverware whilst manager)

the tosh bit was probably rude, but he is being unjustly rude to daniel levy so balls to him, again whats good for the goose etc,etc

i could go on but there is no point

i suggest rather than slate our chairman we should realise that there are 2 sides to every story & stop slating all together (jol or levy) as it is all in the past

the ignorance of people who just slate levy is so amusing!!

btw terrible post mate, try & add something meaningful to the debate next time!!........(thats rude as well!!)

So when did Levy say Jol touted himself around? Do you have the actual quotes for this?

As the once mighty Spurs were drowning in icy waters, Martin came along in his yacht, picked everyone up and took them to the shore. He fed them, kept them hydrated and helped nurse them back to health, all the while getting lovely telegrams from the squads owners, saying what a superb job he did, thank loads, etc.

Martin pulled his yacht up to the jetty, everyone got off, then up strolled Levy, Kemsley & Comolli, slapped him about a bit, sank his boat, stuffed a wad of notes into his pocket and told him to f*ck off.

I can't be arsed to argue the point anymore - from a fans point of view there are a couple of facts that can't be ignored - Martin came to the job when we were an underachieving club who were making poor signings and going nowhere. He built a system around the team, centering around one particular player who was then sold for what is now turning out to be not as attractive an amount of cash as it seemed. With Carrick gone, the last 12 months of planning was gone and he had to start again. He couldn't find a replacement, changed the system slightly and, once again, managed to drag a 5th place out of us, even without the instrumental Carrick, or anyone even able to play a similar game, the team was built to revolve around, but a few poor performances, a certain visit to Spain, a bit of pressure from the press and now the man who took us from 9th-14th, to the best of the rest and two 5th place finishes, isn't allowed to speak his voice about what happened, less he get accused of sour grapes.

Here's an example - You're seeing a girl for a few months, and are getting on really well apart from a recent "blip". You hear stories of her mate's slating the shit out of you, and people who don't know you and will never likely ever meet you are telling tales about you that you know are bullshit, then you find out that a few weeks before she was out with some other fella, having a few drinks and a good time. You asked her about it, but he was "just a friend" or "just some bloke", then within a fortnight, you hear that she's going around and now saying you have a tiny cock and no friends.

Knowing that your local and the people you've come to know as friends are now all privvy to these slanderous stories, you attempt to save a little face by saying to all these people, in a similar fashion to the Ex's rather poor conduct surrounding the relationship, that it's bullshit and these are the real details of what went on.

Sadly, those people who were your best friend, the ones wanting to buy you drinks not a fortnight before, slapping you on the back for how happy you guys looked together, etc. have decided that you're not that great and are now all arse-snuffling her new fella. The fact you had some great times with them means nothing now and the minute you open your mouth to complain that you've been treated unfairly, then you're obviously a bitter **** who should just walk away and leave their pride smeared across the floor.

No.

F*ck that, Martin Jol has every right to speak his mind, tell his side of the story as part of his biography and any of you calling him a cock for it really need to think har... well, just think to start with, we can work from there

yep

quote......daniel levy speaking to the daily mail yesterday...

The 51-year-old felt he was undermined the moment club officials went to the meeting in Seville, but Levy said: "People say I should apologise, but I don't hear anyone talking about Martin going for two jobs while he was here. No-one has had a go at him. Have I got an apology? "We are in the football business and I completely understand"

So that was the Ajax job just after he took over at Spurs, which was common knowledge and which he turned down, and the alleged approach by Newcastle revealed by a tame ITK just after Ramosgate, one of several lame attempts to damage Jol's standing with the fans.

Good old Levy. It was nothing to do with me, guv, straight arrow.

Watch your back, Juande.

There were some quotes in Sunday's NOTW, SS57. It will be interesting to see if Toon or Ajax are mentioned in the bbok. But I'm sure BMJ could spin it. After all, if Levy wants to convince people that despite meeting with Ramos in August he didn't offer him anything, all's fair etc.

Contributors include Spurs legends Clive Allen, Chris Hughton, Jol's assistant manager, Glenn Hoddle, Steve Perryman and Ossie Ardiles, current players Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane, plus West Brom and Coventry striker Cyrille Regis, and a host of other characters from Martin Jol's colourful past and present, each revealing their own secrets about the Spurs manager

Wot no Graham Roberts? Not sure JD or Robbie will offer any cutting insight as their places rely on another now.

But BMJ was nothing if not entertaining. I hope the book is written in that style.
