I can confirm that next season Manchester City will finish somewhere behind the top four.

........Are you 100% sure of that, i may just go down bookies and stick a 5er on it

I really hope petrov does come, we are left wanting on the left wing a bit. My guess is we'll have him before the end of tomorrow... and where the hell is all our money coming from anyway?!

Long time lurker but thought I'd share this news ... Petrov is a done deal.

Hopefully not BS as it's come from a reputable source but I suppose time will tell!

Sorry, I posted in Spurs Chat originally.

I would think that because Berby's already with us, we'd be first choice for Petrov.

And wouldn't it just help to solve our left flank problem.

Fingers crossed!

Petrov would be the best signing of the summer for thfc for the coming season, totally looking forward to seeing him in a spurs shirt

I this second have just received information on the Petrov saga. Finetailendbatsman, it doesnt agree with your source, quite the opposite actually. Despite what certain tabloids are claiming i have been told that Petrov is unlikely, and if anything SWP is a more realistic signing. Its what ive been told and the source is rarely wrong.

Don't have details sorry. It was just an email I received from a friend and I quote:

"Petrov is on his way"

the problem i have with this sort of info is

a) we dont know your friend he could be a wind up merchant

b) he might be someone who has seen it on newsnow off eat sleep football or some other pap site.

now if your friend is daniel levy then i think you might be onto something but im not gonna get excited until there is something more official.

thanks for passing on mate and if your right about this certainly in the future your info will get more credence. hope i havnt offended you.

We'll just have to wait and see. All I can say is my source has no reason to make things up and I don't claim to be ITK so there you go.

Scarily, I am being told we're after Dyer now from another (less reputable) source.

Maybe I should shut up and go back to lurking!

If i was a city fan I wouldnt be holding my breath..

We can offer him European football
We finished 5th and could improve
We have his fellow countryman berbatov,
We're in London.

Man city can offer
Eriksson- ok he has a good record.
Probably can offer silly wages
A relegation battle?

I rather have SWP, though, than Petrov; so hope an eventual signing of Petrov does not mean SWP won't come...

My, my, you are the voice of optimism

swp come up every window and he doesnt leave, i havnt heard him say he wnts to infact he always talks about being happy at chelsea, jose has been playing him in their pre season friendlies and praining him. chelsea need swp from what i can see, who else could play on the right for them?

think we have waited too long with swp if we wanted it done why not get it done in june.

Surely we cant get another LW slip away...
Martin Petrov might not be Ronaldinho but we need him for balance. Even if we upgrade from him in two years it will be worth what Ath want. If he choose Man City over us then I'd be suprised unless of course its a medical issue-spurs would be more careful whereas Man City might be incllined to take more of a risk should anything dodgy come up with that knee in particular.

Well cheers for the info bud. I think if we were to sign Petrov and Dyer then that would be a reasonable doubl signing, although it doesn't solve the 'who plays with JJ?' issue.

I just don't want us to be signing Dyer with some sort of cock-eyed notion that he can play on the left....because he can't.
