I think that Atletico would still qualify for UEFA, albeit todays plain EMBARASSING loss . Hence, he will get "european" footie.

Of course, Atletic couldn't even dream for CL. They couldn't do with el Nino, let alone without him. For me, Atletico is the Newcastle in Primera.

Obviously, at Atletico, they want to change something (yet again), after Tores' departure . They've signed 6 first team players so far.

We don't know if Petrov is part of this change or not. Truth is, that he didnt have the chance to shine there, mainly due to the injury. I think he is somewhat trapped in the Mido case (somewhat), he[petrov] is good, but due to the circumstances, couldn't show it. Hence, like in Mido's case, the best for club and player, would be to close a sell deal.

Anyway, he's being linked strongly with Man City, but he[petrov] hasn't responded to the questions posed by the Bulgarian press.

This might mean, that he really IS planning a move, be it to spurs or man city.

I agree with Rockstar, that if he is rational, he would choose Spurs (Dimi there, better team).

Eriksson of course, is a top notch coach and no player would deny to work with him, ceteris paribus.

Let's wait and see, during the next week, there should be an announcement.

i hope they sign him cos he is worth the money (comparing to Ashley young etc). Relatively cheap and good player.

Also might get Bulgarian press on side about having both of them at the club.

The problem is Lennon already have Knee problem ..
IF we want Petrov - who also have knee problem - that's mean we could be without one of them some weeks and that's would be leave us with only one winger as the same as last season.

For sure we need another 2 wingers if Routledge isn't staying.

A near textbook come-and-get-me plea from Petrov there.

Should probably have said something about Man City being a massive club with a wonderful fanbase and top-drawer coach. Just to cover himself.

But that's nit-picking. It's a well-crafted plea.

But for a real masterclass, check out this one from Bernard Mendy.

Faultless.

Clearly we can give Martin a B+, with a 'Could do Better' as comment and for Mendy a resounding A+

All bases covered, target club mentioned, reason for going, happy at old club, will give all until contract expires but still open to other clubs.

I must say when i first heard talk of SWP i was dead against it. But as someone pointed out - if Lennon is injured we have nay cover for either wing (bar routledges, although his future is anything but certain), nor any left/right side midfielders.

Thus i am very much for the Petrov signing now. SWP appears to have gone cold, and Petrov is a left footer - somewhat of a rarity these days.

Still after a good defensive midfielder though.

and he even gave them a sneak at a possible part-ex opportunity at the end too  Mendy must've spent ages ticking all them boxes

I think people are being a bit ignorant about Petrov's injury. He had a very bad injury but to say he has a problem is making an issue out of very little. He is fully recovered and is no more likely to be injured in his knee or any other part of his body then had he not got that injury.

He will be a fine signing!

People also think he has a terrible injury record thats really long. He hasn't at all, he's had one bad one, he's over it.

It is good to hear that he wants to join us. He is a stylish left winger. A very special player, and his style of play is suited for Tottenham Hotspur FC. Good pace, passes and crosses. A goalscorer aswell.

im not really too fussed about his injury as we'll only sign him if we know for a fact that he's properly recovered from it.

personally im a bit more concerned about his age - i would like to see someone younger brought in, however im sure petrov would do a decent job for us.
