Which of course you are entitled to, but this is the sort of stuff that ends up being legend. I have frustrated in the past when we have missed out on different targets, but in this case it will be the player choosing someone else rather than Levy having short arms
ah well...if we've met the asking price but the player has opted for a brief spell in the champions league with a bunch of muppets, then we've done all we can and we need to go to our next alternative.

...a shame as I think he would have been a great addition.

Cheers for sharing the info you got with us (y)

He is that good, and expect this to drag on wayyyy into July/August. At the same time Kramer will come out and say he is 100% staying at his current club. Or agree to join Roma or somewhere.
I don't think he's THAT good, but it's only my opinion. I want to sign him, but if we can't, we should move on.
If we drag it til august we will end up getting a Stambouli type of signing with no preseason. But hey, we tried.

I trust my contact and he was adamant we had offered the asking price 24/25m so can we put this Levy being tight shit to bed please?
That's not saying he will come, but we have bid.

And Mikeegreen and Spurger King you need to get a room ffs

Grey Fox. Who do you expect us to sign in the CM position?

I bet it's Imbula. Who I think will be a big mistake.

Heard nothing about Imbula from my end, still think we have a shout with MS.
Well at least that's good news. Honestly if we sign Imbula it would just be hilarious, he is so different from MS and Kramer it's unreal we are even linked. Would say to me that the scouting clearly hasn't changed much and neither has Levy. Would scream "signing for the sake of it/cheaper alternative" to me.

Merson's had his say.

http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2...aul-merson-cautious-over-morgan-schneiderlin/

“They need a holding midfielder. Do you go and get Schneiderlin?”Play With A Legend ambassador Merson told The Sport Review.

“We saw what happened with Liverpool. They bought three Southampton players and nothing happened. It is a lot different playing for Southampton than it is for Arsenal – that’s the problem. Schneiderlin is a decent player [though].”

On speculation linking the Gunners with a swoop for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, Merson added: “People tell me about the lad at Monaco, but I can’t pronounce his name!”

Yeah thanks Paul

We'll know if he has 'short arms' if the deal doesn't come through and he fails to stump up for an alternative player (Kramer etc).

Which is why in my opinion we should be building a team for the future. Bridge the gap by signing future stars whilst developing a team ethos.

Go get the best youngsters around that would want to come to us, develop them and reap the rewards. Yes it may mean that we don't challenge for the top 4 for 2 or so seasons, but realistically we aren't a top 4 team yet, even with a few excellent additions like Scheiderlin.

This 100%. Realistically, until we're in the new stadium, we're a top 6 club and not a top 4 club. We should be looking to have a side reaching maturity in 2-4 years when we're in the new stadium - then we can pay comparable wages to the current top 4.

If we crack top 4 before, great, but I am not expecting it until we can afford to pay the wages the current top 4 (and Liverpool) can pay. I would love us to sign MS but if we lose out to Arsenal, I won't lose sleep on it. We should be aiming for players looking to use us as a stepping stone and hope we make the jump before they want it. Adding in our best youngsters, investing in the youth team, will allow us to be fully prepared when we can dump £50m on players and pay them £150k a week - we're not there yet.

Sure, we could throw money at MS but we'd be gambling with money we don't have and, for all the chance it goes for us, just look at Portsmouth and Leeds
