Even if it is bull about all five clubs looking at him, I find it interesting and very strange that he said five, not the usual "CL four only" we get from players of his lot. Gives me the impression that MGP has spurs on his wishlist to move to.

Yep.

my short version

The article states that it is a "real" possibility that MGP ends up in one of the top 5 clubs in England.

Rune Hauge (his agent) is looking to find a new club for the player. "The top 5 clubs are looking into his situation"
[load of bull btw]

MGP himself says that he will think about the issue when bids do come in.

Man Utd got Nani, The Pool after Silva, Chelski have Robben and Arse Rosicky - i think that leaves the Gamst for the Yids!!

Spurs set to spend again

Tottenham look ready to step up their interest in Martin Petrov and Morten Gamst Pedersen.
Atletico Madrid's Petrov, 28, would cost £8million while Blackburn want £2m more for their 25-year-old winger.

Manager Martin Jol has been tracking Petrov for the past 12 months and knows he should settle quickly at White Hart Lane with Bulgaria team-mate Dimitar Berbatov at the club.
The 28-year-old was named Bulgaria's Footballer of the Year in 2006 and is available for around £8m, which is £2m less than what Blackburn are demanding for Pedersen.

That is a comedy write up, typical of the daily mail.

Why not just say Blackburn want £10m, which is £5m too much, but no they just say he will cost £2m more twice in the article.

Blackburn can keep MGP.

I can't see Pedersen going to either Chelsea or Man U. Both of them would aim higher for a higher calibre of player and Man U already have Anderson and Nani coming to them.

I would love to see him at the Lane as he is an excellent player but £10m is an awful lot of money. But I can't help but feel he'll end up at Liverpool as part of a deal to get Bellamy back to Ewood Park. That said, I'm not sure Bellamy wants to go anywhere. And of course, Pedersen has a massive disadvantage in that he is not Spanish

I would take MGP anyday over Downing.

"All the big five follow Morten's situation," Hauge told Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet. "We are in contact with the clubs. Morten plays in a special position on the left and can play as well both in 4-3-3 and 4-4-2.

I applaud his versatility.

It sounds like we've expressed an interest but his agent is trying really hard to get Gamst a move to chelsea or man utd.

When we played them in the pissing rain I was by the corner flag telling him to join a team with supporters!! It must be weird when you put in the cross to get their goal look around but no supporters. They didn't take their allocation probablyonly a couple of hundred turned up.

so u rate these players at the same quality? it's like saying sevilla have alves, barcelona have zambrotta, real madrid ramos, I think that leaves justin edinbourogh for the yids. It's really annoying for a norwegian who see him play a lot of games, when people who clearly just have seen highligths of a couple of freekicks and corners pr season and rates him from that, he really is a poorpoor player. And these things about he is the hardest worker in PL(???), for a winger it's not about how much u run, it's about how intelligent and smart u run, with, and without the ball. I have to drink some beer and pray he's getting a bad injury on wednesday so he stays in blackburn. good day:beer:

I have inside sources that Spurs will announce the signings of Kaboul and maybe Pedersen in July, either the 1st or 2nd! We have agreed a fee of 7.5 million + Mido for Pedersen however Pedersen may not want to join us and a medical and terms is still yet to take place. If you don't believe me wait until the beginning of July...

Gamst was shocking v Malta, and hasn't had a good first half v Hungary now for Norway.

I honestly don't think he will add much to our team technically, but he would be good for the balance of our midfield.

7,5mill + Mido? Gimme a break! 2mill + Mido maybe. Or even a straight swap. He's not that good.

I for one hope you are right. It seems like I am the only one who wants Pedersen anymore but I think he is a good crosser of the ball with his left foot and will need very little time to get used to the Prem compared to younger players from Europe and if we can dump Mido at the same time all the better if you ask me.

We really don't need that much production out of the position just someone who can provide an outlet to free up some space for the midfield and score the occasional goal and provide the occasional assist. Seems like Pedersen would fit the bill and if we can get him for a decent price I don't see the problem. I believe Pedersen is the right balance of attack and defense that won't leave us too exposed on the counter yet will provide some good attacking play when given the chance.
