If you wanted to be sure of a good spot or your favourite spot in the ground you had to be in the ground 2 hours or more before the kick off and stand the whole time on freezing cold days.
For big matches you had to travel to WHL wait in line for up to 24 hours in freezing cold just to buy a ticket with lines of people stretching for miles and then travel & line up again to get in for the match a week or two later.
Sometimes after waitin hours in line the tickets would be sold out and you were turned away.
It wasnt that much fun.
