You got to be kidding. Why do you think Liverpool wants to get rid?

If we were to get him it would smell of retro step and desperation.

Crouch is not a bad player - there are many worse forwards in the prem, but, no I wouldn't welcome him.
Not what we need and no improvement on what we already have or would he be a player to take us on.

Crouch is a good player, but I hate the effect he has on a team he's playing for & he's no way a Ramos player.

It's a no from me.

He's a form player - when he is on form he looks a threat, you get all that 'good touch for a big man' rubbish. When he is out of form he's useless. He can score 8 in 8, then not score for 8 months. Look at his record for England - against crap teams he scores, against good or better teams he struggles

His 'good touch' is actually the same as any normal player's touch, although sometimes the ball just bounces off of him.

He is the wrong player at the wrong time. He's not what we need as a first choice player, and he is not worth paying for to have on the bench

By no means shit. I think he's got things that recommend him, just not enough of them.

Rafa was also muttering about £12m the other day.

Honestly some of you people must just look at his frame and think, no way can he be a good footballer!?!

Since he went to Liverpool he has been their top scorer (obviously apart from this season) and considering the amount of starts he has had that is quite exceptional... if you actually watch his game he has a lot more to it than just ariel ability. His touch is fantastic, really top class... he's a neat clean finisher who makes very inteligent runs and gets himself into good positions. His height is just a bonus with the other attributes he has

I think he would be a fantastic signing, no not a big name but to be honest the only reason he isn't a ig name is becaus he doesn't conform to the typical build of a footballer! please actually watch his game and judge him on his footballing ability before making stupid comments!

I agree with this, some of the other comments are quite amusing cosidering the people writing them think they know there stuff!!

I'd definately take him for the squad, but not if it meant we dropped interest in players of the cailbre of Eto'o (assuming Berbs has gone).

Berbs, Eto'o (etc)
Keane
Bent
Crouch

This would be a brilliant bunch of forwards giving us loads of options.

Considering his height, his aerial ability is pisspoor. But he does have a good touch and can hold the ball up well, and can get himself into good positions. He is by no means a great finisher, though.

Pass... He's certainly a good player, a lot better than a lot of people are giving him credit for, but we need to be aiming for better...

If next season we want to be challenging for 4th, then we've basically got to aim to be better than Liverpool, and we're not going to do that by picking up their cast offs...

Not my first choice but for a decent fee he would be welcome as a part of our strike force..

I'd welcome him, I'm a big fan of Crouch.
He would be a great asset for the team, certainly a better option than Bent.

The stats about him scoring against rubbish teams and not good ones, is not entirely his fault, for England, the better teams null the threat of getting him the ball, either in the air or just reduce England to long ball.

However, we need players who can actually cross the ball from the wing and from set peices to have him effective for either knockdowns or heading at goal.

So, with Crouch, you would need someone who can deliver a decent ball from right and left sides.

Although, of course I'd prefer Eto, but I still cannot see him coming here.

my problem with crouch isn't crouch. it's the brainless footballers around him. they get the ball under pressure and all their tiny minds can think to do is hoof it high to gangly-pete.
and gangly-pete can't jump. he can only push down on the defender next to him in a leapfrog fashion to propel him upwards, resulting in a foul.

I think Crouchy's fantastic. He scores goals. The end.

Oh, but he does get an awful lot of fouls given against him though.
