How do we look so lethargic when we have a pretty much fully fit squad and we’ve only had one competition to focus on for the vast majority of the season? God help us next year when we’re in Europe. You can forgive mistakes but we were completely outfought by a team with numerous first team players out.

And how can a professional team that trains every day still be so surprised by defending a corner? Absolutely clueless. Two weeks to stew on this shit now
i think it is because the players get away with it. Ange is way to focused on what we do with the ball, that now after the honeymoon period is over, the players do not have to press hard and sprint. Everyone is jogging and reacting
and all this with an insane high line OVER the midfield line, not even possible to put them offside.

I am sorry but it looks utter clueless in profesional football. If Klop sees this midfiled/attacking line not pressing as a unit like wolfs he would almost spit out his plastic teeth at the sideline, he would be screaming. Ange has his hands in his pockets.
seriously worried as this has been a thing for several months and the games we ahve won, has more been the oposition playing under par and not us impressing

The worrying is thing is we play the same way no matter if we play against a back four or back three, a counter attacking team or a possession based team. It looks like we do little to no work on during the week on what the opposition will/might do.

Chelsea had Jackson who was in woeful form, they had no one like us with Son who was dominant in the air or able to hold the ball up. They didn’t score again until the 75th minute. They did however break our lines several times only to make a complete hash of it prior to scoring their 2nd. With 15 mins plus injury time to play, battening down the hatches and getting a draw was a real possibility whereas maintaining the high line was flirting with disaster and this ultimately cost us. This was pivotal to our season as all the hard work and fantastic results pre this game has gone out of the window.
Fair enough... I will give Ange plenty of time. I believe we are on the right path... with adjustments and more players that fit his system. And Ange hopefully learning something as well on top.

I know you disagree. And it's fine. 👍

According to Dier's interview with Gary Neville, it's time for Ange to answer unpleasant questions about why he doesn't work on tactics. It's an open-door event in defence again. There are no lessons from the Fulham game.

For the next game Ange needs to mix things up a little. Some of the players are not in form but start each week. We start each game slow, can't defend corners and are so open for counters. No desire, week and easy to defend against. I know its Ange fist season and the squad needs more rebuild but that is no exchuse to play and perform like today. Top four is going to be a big task but hopeful we can turn things around after this.

It's obvious how to beat us now:
1. Play 5 at the back with a low block
2. Give Tottenham the ball
3. Counter attack with pace on the wings
4. Score set pieces

However. I'm not going to start blaming Ange. He wants to play with a style and philosophy and doesn't have the players he needs to execute it the way he wants yet. We won't learn his philosophy and style if we don't play it.

We need a top CF. Son is not a good striker against low blocks. Isak will probably go to Arsenal. Toney could be good.

A top number 6 as bissouma has lost all form. Fullback cover.

And a new set piece coach!

The majority of the forum knew bissouma needed to be benched and Maddison a rest but unfortunately it seems ange is too stuborn to change things

Inexcusable shit performance and I have some concerns re Ange and his game management but those calling for his head are literally insane. Its his first season. He isnt telling the players to make shit passes. We need a new set piece coach clearly.

We are suffering from severely out of form players and when playing this system - if that includes our DM and our centerbacks (it does) then its not surprising that we fall to pieces.

The mentality of this team is simply not strong enough - and we've changed almost the whole team in the last 2/3 seasons. Young players are a part of this and I am reasonably confident this will improve a lot next season.

Providing we can secure 5th that 's a reasonable result, but we must not now fall to pieces in the run in. We clearly badly need a striker to compete with Richy and 2 top class players in terms of DM and WF.

It’s weird. People call for a player to be dropped and with a spell out of the side you gets calls for him to start. It’s as if they’ve never been part of similar performance and are now ‘the answer’. It’s like some sort of Hokey Cokey and it’s a bit odd. Spurs fans aren’t alone in this.

The big issue is there’s currently no consistency from our players, especially in midfield and attack. They can’t string two good performances together at the mo. You’ve then got Son who is our only clinical finisher but he’s been woeful for weeks. Whereas Kulusevski who has also been dreadful is our only player who can retain possession. Yet on current form neither of them deserve to start. We’ve Werner and Johnson with pace to burn and love the ball in behind but for some stupid reason we decide to play the ball from left to right instead of looking to break the opposition lines. The players aren’t delivering but the tactics leave an awful lot to be desired.

Gordon saying they changed their tactics (which was obvious). Why are we unable to do the same when we aren’t competing?

A reporter asked Ange this week about comments made by players that during training he doesn't talk much about the opposition and spends most of the time training on the way we play.

Eddie Howe on the other hand, cut out supply to our wingbacks sat three in the middle of defence and cut out any threat we had.

Something like the forty second minute before we had a shot on goal?

We struggle against relegation fodder so this result wasn't really surprising, and makes the trip to Anfield all the more frightening.

Too many performances like this through season end and we needn't worry about dusting off our passports.

Son was a passenger and has been recently
And who has scored more goals than him in the last 5 games? That's recently, right? Like I said, I don't think he is a good number 9 but if nobody is outscoring him and it's a fact he our best finisher, and Richy is injured, why would you not leave our best goal threat on the pitch so we at least have one potential goal threat in a real one on one situation. Johnson is great arriving late in the box on the back post, but that's not a striker.

Van de Ven atrocious today alright. On his arse for a couple of goals because he was so exposed. Trying to play offside in the opponents half and easily turned by Isak. He didn't look fit actually, he was sooo bad.

It's a callback to the Harry Redknapp glory days
