Fair enough... I will give Ange plenty of time. I believe we are on the right path... with adjustments and more players that fit his system. And Ange hopefully learning something as well on top.

I know you disagree. And it's fine. 👍

We’ve all got opinions and want what’s best for the club, it’s just seriously frustrating when we always seem to take 1 step forwards then 2 steps backwards. The most infuriating thing for me is all of our most recent coaches/managers have a plan A and no plan B.

Just as bad as last seasons performance for me. But these don't have the excuse of having given up on the season and coach. Just totally inept, weak performance today.

The front 3 were diabolical, especially first half. Sonny couldn't keep hold of the ball at all, and I lost count how many times he lost it. And are Werner and Johnson told to stay half way up the pitch, stuck on the touchline, and totally static like fucking statues without the ball? Even when we're clearly struggling to get the ball out our half, they're still stuck on the half way line, stuck to the fucking touch line. Johnson never expecting the ball, always on his heels.

The midfield never got up to speed of the Newcastle press, like they were expecting the game to be played at their pace (criminal! never learn)

And finally the defence, totally fucking shambolic. Udogie weak, especially for the first goal. VDV as good as he was last week, this week just as bad. Just stay on you're fucking feet man! like he had skates on. Porro and Romero also mistake ridden and wanderingly awful.
And I swear it could have been 10 had their finishing from set pieces been better. Johnson was on Burn the whole fucking game lol. Collectively they were awful.

If we put in performances like that, we ain't getting another point away this season. Shocking

To call for Ange to go is madness but the worry is how to improve on this and recent performances. He is unwilling/unable to change tactics even if they are not working and it was this inflexibility that lost Jose/Conte their jobs. The fact the performance of the team seems to be declining as the season progresses somewhat undermines the argument that players will improve as they get used to the system. That leaves improving the squad which means new players learning a new system with no guarantee that they will improve things or that the players to.improve things will be affordable or available.

I love Ange and we absolutely must stick with him I have no doubt, but I'm getting rather frustrated with out of form players constantly being picked to start, especially when we have options that have actually performed better when coming on as a sub.

Biss and Maddison just have to be dropped, it's about 4 weeks late at this point aswell. Can even argue Son needs to sit a game out but that's harder to do with Richarlisons constant niggly injuries.

Sticking with the tactics and game plan I'm okay with but consistently starting out of form players every week is pissing me off.

It's obvious how to beat us now:
1. Play 5 at the back with a low block
2. Give Tottenham the ball
3. Counter attack with pace on the wings
4. Score set pieces

However. I'm not going to start blaming Ange. He wants to play with a style and philosophy and doesn't have the players he needs to execute it the way he wants yet. We won't learn his philosophy and style if we don't play it.

We need a top CF. Son is not a good striker against low blocks. Isak will probably go to Arsenal. Toney could be good.

A top number 6 as bissouma has lost all form. Fullback cover.

And a new set piece coach!
"doesn't have the players he needs to execute it the way he wants yet" name the last Tottenham manager to have the players he needed?

The challenge I have with people wanting Ange to switch tactics - we haven't been very good lately with the tactics we actually train - I can't imagine how out of our depth we would be if we switched to something where we have just a few training sessions to work on.

The turnovers leading to 1-0 and 3-0 below. Son lost the ball twice from extremely dangerous positions and our midfielders were passively standing on top of each other too far from any relevant situation. The same thing happened against Luton with Son losing the ball in a position like this with any cover too far away to help.

This is not to put shame on Son as we almost conceded from Werner, Maddison & Johnson committing similar errors today. It is certainly systematic, but whose fault is it? Ange's or our attackers' decision-making not being up to par? Nevertheless, we've been caught overplaying in dangerous areas more times than I can remember in the last few games and we've suffered for it.

And who has scored more goals than him in the last 5 games? That's recently, right? Like I said, I don't think he is a good number 9 but if nobody is outscoring him and it's a fact he our best finisher, and Richy is injured, why would you not leave our best goal threat on the pitch so we at least have one potential goal threat in a real one on one situation. Johnson is great arriving late in the box on the back post, but that's not a striker.

This is where scoring working as a team is more important than what one individual contributes. The perfect example is Ronaldo’s recent stint at Utd. His goal scoring figures were very impressive but even for Utd and that’s saying something, even they couldn’t cope with Ronaldo contributing next to nothing outside of his goals. The match result is more important than what Ronaldo/Son achieved.

This kind of result will hit us hard and maybe, oddly the Gooner game at least will get them motivated to keep the score down. Just a shadow of the team that started the season it was like Stellini was still managing from last year.

12:30 KOs with those crap away shirts. We've even dropped out of the top 4 without Villa even kicking a ball thanks Spurs! When they need to show up and fight it always seems to be the exact opposite! Ruining weekends so early and that laughing stock tag never seems too far away, embarrassing!

If it was Poch in charge today and he put out this team and the subs he would be getting ABSOLUTELY slaughtered. I said we were lucky at the start of the season when teams were missing their chances in games.I remember it even happened in the Man United game, one of the first games of the season I believe. we love Ange as a person and he's done a really good job so far but I think he is party to blame for this one. His tactics are questionable at times and very NAIVE...

Totally this, low block basically takes all of our forwards out of the game

Yes... but maybe it's time we start trusting a manager/process again... I would certainly rather trust Ange and the new setup than going back to another negative manager.

We've had a couple of years now with negativity and crap... the atmosphere and energy alone for the majority of this season has been a breath of fresh air... the football as well.. it's not perfect at all... and we have had some some weird/awful games recently... but we just need to end the season in a way where we can take the positive things into next season. And give it proper go again under Ange. (With another summer window)

Games like today hurt like hell... but hey... let's not panic. IMO.

Edit: two steps forward and one step back 😁😁😁

I'm glad you brought the images. That's what I've been thinking, we concede a lot of goals from individual mistakes. Our players are clearly playing in the wrong position. Son cannot be in the center of the field. We need a new center forward, one who can keep the ball at his feet and pivot.
