Today was a good result (Vs Man U), however it will not get us near the CL positions. I fear Chelsea we go on a 'champions' type run and will leave us for dead. We therefore need to close the gap on Arsenal and City currently standing at 6 and 8 points if we want to keep our current CL status.

So we look forward
Our next 10 games are against

Newcastle A
Blackburn A
Bolton H
Sunderland A
Blackpool A
Arsenal H
Wolves A
West Ham H
Wigan A
Stoke H

All of these games are winnable, there are no games personally i think should be too difficult. We now need to show we our true CL contenders and win 7/8 out of these next 10 games only allowing a couple of slip ups.

If we can win the Arsenal game specifically to close that gap inclusive of the 7/8 then we will put ourselves right back in there.

Hopefully my assumpton in the first line proves to be wrong and Chelsea continue on faltering form and we only need to catch the one point. :)

One of games can go wrong so thats why I am taking the long term view of 10 games I believe we need to acheive 22-25 points. This is the classic 2 ppg CL factor plus an extra few to catch up with the others.

How many are you guys hoping for?
ps the 11th may possible be a trip to City

City have got a real tough ten coming up. By the end of the next ten I expect we'll be closer to them.

26 points from those games and I'd be satisfied.

26 points would require an amazing run :hump:
of 8 wins 2 draws and zero losses. That would put us back in the title race if Man U slip up with tough games such as Chelsea.

I would be more than satisfied with that :)
22 points

22 is more of an attainable target as I said we should be looking at 22-25
Unfortunatly it requires around 76 points to get a CL spot which works out at 2points per game

we only have 37 after 22 so we need to catch up with City and Arsenal who are around the 2ppg average

Only collecting 2 points on top of the 2ppg over 10 games (22-20) in easier fixtures I worry will not be enough. We need to wipe the majority of the 5 point deficit we have to catch up

That is a tough run. Lots of away games will make it bloody difficult...

This is true
In recent years I feel more confident than ever going away from home, but i believe it is a lot harder to be consistent away from home for any team :-|

THIS IS THE TIME FOR TOTTENHAM TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED

If we can in this period topple AC Milan in the CL and a couple of rounds in the FA cup as well as a triffic league run then the end of the season looks very bright

I would look at the next four games.

Newcastle away
Blackburn away
Bolton home
Sunderland away

That is tough, we need to apply the level of committment shown today to stand a chance in beating the likes of Newcastle, Blackburn and Sunderland away.

The good thing is that we are so dangerous on the counter I can see us picking up points on the road. Add to the fact that Dawson and Gallas look impressive together we could edge quite a few away games.

But thats only 1 point from our last two games, we need to be looking to beat Newcastle. They'll be missing their little enforcer, I think we stand a decent chance.

We need at least 7 points from those 4 games to just stay in touch. Anything more than 7 would be an excellent return.

I don't feel too much confidence in those fixtures at all. I can't remember the last time we won in the N East. Even last season we could have been beaten 10-1 by Sunderland. We were awful that day.

I think we will get 15 points from these games losing at Toon, Sunderland, Blackpool and Wolves. Historically this is what we do.

Hope we change history but I doubt it.

The worrying thing is the chasing pack consist of Newcastle, Sunderland and Blackpool

If we lost all 3 we would probably be involved in a scrap for 5th rather than 4th

15 points would mean the end for consequtive CL campaigns (unless we win it)

I think the next 6 games are the crux of our season, let alone 10. 5 of 6 away from home. 3 points from Bolton is an absolute must. I believe in this side and if they show the commitment they did today, I think we can go on a run, but it will be very tough.

Agreed, we'll need to beat one of Blackburn or Newcastle in the next 2 games.

Entering the business end now.
