The appointment of Poch doesn't bode well for me for any external investment or buy-out soon, or at all...Levy strikes again, appoint Poch and he will cling on for another couple of years.
Not a single player you just named bar maybe bentacur gets into poch prime teamMaybe, although I'd say Porro, Romero, Udogie, Skipp, Sarr, Bentancur, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Kane and Son is a much better starting place than what he started out with last time.
But they they get into Sherwood’s team from 2014? Because that was the starting point which Poch built from. Not a single player you just named bar maybe bentacur gets into poch prime team
Cling on? My man, Levy OWNS the club. There's no clinging about it. Unless you've got upwards of £5b or you know someone who does who is willing to part with it then I suggest you get used to Mr. Levy because he's going to be here until someone does come along with that kind of wedge and then, and only then will he saunter off into the sunset. That's not a defence of Levy or his performance as chairman, that's just stating the bare facts of the situation.Levy strikes again, appoint Poch and he will cling on for another couple of years.
I can’t see him joining soon tbhWe won’t be signing players for the rest of the season….
How about we wait for the outcome of the director of actual FOOTBALL’s appeal, then either back the guy to plan for succession (as it’s part of his job) or we replace him, and let the new incumbent choose?I'm all ears if you have a better suggestion.
I'm not feeling Tuchel at all. Really boring, defensive football and known for falling out with everyone. Amorim? Meh. Being Portuguese he probably speaks good English. I don't know if I see the magic there though. He's in a very, very uncompetitive league so its hard to judge how good he is. Yes they beat us but that's no select club is it?If it’s interim like it has been suggested, then Tuchel. Continue the system with a guy who knows how to play it, is a proven winner and can come in somewhere mid season.
If not, then go for a project manager, someone on the up like an Amorin, someone who can bring fresh ideas and give us a chance to win something.
Not bring in a guy who lost the title to Leicester and didn’t win anything with our best team in 30 years.
Win anything when he should have? Were you there? He nearly won us the league without spending anything. He got us to the Champions League final without spending anything. Conte can't even get us into the top 4 after spending hundreds of millions of pounds. And I'm not digging out Conte here, I'm explaining the achievement that was Poch's tenure. You call it a worse side but there's a lot of fresh, untapped talent here. Poch got the maximum he could get out of the squad he had but it fell to pieces from overuse. This would be a chance to try again with a fresh squad that is desperately looking for leadership. He's maybe done some growing up, Levy has hopefully learned to appreciate what you've got and the grass isn't greener. I'm not saying Poch should automatically get the job. I'm not his agent. I'm just saying that no one, right now, looks like the right guy. No one. We know what Poch can do with a squad of young players. We have a squad of young players. Why am I trolling? I do appreciate the job he did but I also appreciate he didn’t win anything when he should have. I want a manager to take us to the next level so we can finally win something.
I loved poch for a long time but I had my frustrations with him and you can call it a fluke but it’s simple that he didn’t win the league… he lost home and away to that Leicester team.
Explsin to me how poch is going to elevate us to the next level with a worse side.
I would put every penny I had on conte winning the league with that spurs team whrn Leicester won it.
You have so far, come up with an incorrect statement, told someone that was correct they were wrong and now basically argued and disagreed with yourself in the above post.Unlikely. Poch would have been due his full compensation over the life of the contract.
That would have been mitigated by his PSG contract so Spurs have not had to pay out the entire deal — but Spurs would have had to payout the contract value, less what he got from PSG.
Look at the journey he took us on when inheriting a far worse squad than we have now to answer your Q there mate. Why am I trolling? I do appreciate the job he did but I also appreciate he didn’t win anything when he should have. I want a manager to take us to the next level so we can finally win something.

Interested as to why you think poch would end in disaster. We would have gone through 2 serial winners in Conte & Jose that got us nowhere. Why would poch be more likely than any other to end in disaster? The chance now, imo, based on previous experience is that under the current board - no one could succeed.I will advise for all the supporters of Poch, which I was until his last 18 months. I would support him if he comes. But feel it will end in disaster. Please heed my warning. But some won’t.
Kompany would be well worth a gamble I think, love the way he has Burnley playing.I hope we wont go for poch. He did amazing things with us but the last 18 months was horrendious and we also know he wont play the new signings the fist 6-12 months because they had to "adopt" to the league. It also means when we get everyone back from loan we will see Winks start every game in the midfield...
Now i havent watched Burnley but from what i have heard is that they play amazing football so why not go for Vincent Kompany? He know what it takes to win trophys as a player and seems to have a fun way of playing.
Gone well the last few times. If it’s interim like it has been suggested, then Tuchel. Continue the system with a guy who knows how to play it, is a proven winner and can come in somewhere mid season.
Remember, he said better than what Poch started out with, not what he moulded them into. It is in fact a much better team than he inheritedNot a single player you just named bar maybe bentacur gets into poch prime team
The last 18 months was not ‘horrendous’. That 18 month period you’re referring to included a top four finish and a CL final (!).I hope we wont go for poch. Yeah - I am not familiar with English contract law - but I doubt it differs significantly from US contract law.You have so far, come up with an incorrect statement, told someone that was correct they were wrong and now basically argued and disagreed with yourself in the above post.
Poch salary was greater at PSG than at Tottenham. The minute he was under their employment we would be able to stop paying him as he was earning greater than the commitment we made to him, so from that point on suffered no losses.
