Also nearly got us relegated. Hardly an overall successful appointment.
Im more worried that this will also confirm Kane is off in the summer too. Who do we even replace him with? We couldnt not sign another forward and just go with Richarlison surely? We would either need another CF or a WF at least. Osimhen, Vlahovic, Kolo-Muani etc dont look doable and nobody else is up and coming.
Two most important questions here are..
1- do we see Conte turning it around this season? Were in terrible form and if as we all believe he is gone in a few months can we risk being passive. Before we know it we will be out of the top four race and both cups.
2- when is Paraticis appeal and can we see him being here post the appeal. That also has a huge impact on what is going to happen going forward.
We have Poch waiting , almost teasing Levy or maybe Chelsea with pics of London so I believe we have a replacement if we want but would Paratici want him, would a new DOF want him?
Would Poch be happy playing 3 at the back? Because from what I've seen of Porro he is no right back. Would he be happy working with a DOF? IF Paratici leaves after Conte and Poch comes in do we get someone who thinks along similar lines to Poch rather than rip everything up again.
I don't think we're that far off personnel wise. Add in a good centre half, actually two centre halves and a keeper and that gives a new coach more than enough to be comfortably in the conversation up the top of the table.
This could be a huge mess which is why I want the club to get ahead of it and make de
Thing is, in the future I would love to see Poch back. When he’s managed another real team, done well and grown tactically and we have moved on from the mess of the last few seasons and all the players he managed before have long gone. Then it wouldn’t be a nostalgia hire who we are turning to in desperation and for lack of a better idea. That would be how I want to see him return and that is the way we would maybe see success with him again.
But to bring him back now for me feels so intrinsically wrong and signifies the complete and utter lack of understanding for football those in control of our team have. It would be an appointment birthed from complete and utter desperation.
Now is the time for fresh ideas, fresh football, a fresh start. We need to look toward the future not yet again be stuck in the past. I love him like the rest of us so but now is not the time for the return of Poch. This to me just feels like yet again another completely illogical move from our club. As was Conte, as was Nuno and as was Jose.
They are asking for £100m apparentlyI would love Kolo and even though he would be expensive, probably the most realistic of the three you’ve mentioned but still a £50+ million player. Kane is definitely off IMO.

I don't think anyone is like Bielsa personally.I know nothing about Gallardo, what is he all about? Is he a bit like Bielsa?
If by interesting you actually mean fucking daft, then yes Carrick is very interesting.Carrick is interesting
Those years are gone anyway. And Levy will get away once again which I utterly hate. Poch coming back will also be the ultimate waste of 3 years.
As surprising as water is wet.I will be very very very surprised if Poch returns....
We ain't getting a reset. We are getting more of levy & ENIC. There will be no new era, atleast poch has dealt with the clowns at board level before and may be able to navigate waters other managers won't. I genuinely think there is NO manager out there who can succeed here under our current board. It’s this a billion times over for me. The whole club needs a factory reset with a proper long term plan with fresh ideas. Not a nostalgia trip that works because it’s convenient. The quality of Poch isn’t the issue as he has shown. He might come back and it’s a fairytale. If he was a significant level above other options I might feel different. But it just doesn’t feel fresh for me yet because I still feel there’s still a trace of his first stint still at the club. That for me needs to be completely eradicated before he returns. And most of all it doesn’t strike me as a step forward into a new era with a concrete plan to create success. And that’s what this club needs.
How?Got to be honest, that’s really disappointing
This….absolutely this. Can’t agree with you more. I always tried to watch as many River games as I could, which was not a huge amount because of the time difference and having to normally find a stream, but I still watched a decent number over the years because of how entertaining his/their football was. Really feel he’d be the absolute perfect fit for us not just tactically but in regards to youth and our budget. I’d be disappointed if we passed on him for Poch tbh.
