What the hell has Jan done to deserve it? Hes not overly communicative and doesn't do much out of the ordinary.

It will be and should be Michael Dawson, then Sandro, Lennon or Parker as vice captain.

King wasnt overly communicative on the pitch either, but I would still have picked him as captain.
Also not sure how Vocal is on the pitch, so it seem strange you say not verts because one of the reasons is because he isnt vocal enough and then say another quiet player should be in the running.

Also what out of the ordinary stuff do you need to do to be captain?

King was a Tottenham youth player so had been at the club for many years and was a great defender, someone the rest of the team and fans could look towards because you knew he was Spurs and he was great out of the ordinary player, we didnt need him to be vocal.

Lennon has been at Tottenham for nearly ten years now and works incredibly hard off the ball, to me he leads by example as i've been inspired watching him track back this year.

Vertonghen has been fairly good but having been to the games live I know hes not overly communacative and doesnt play the game in a commanding way. No chance he becomes captain next year.

No one has yet said why Vertonghen should be, I don't care if he was captain at Ajax it was probably due to him being the senior player. He has done absolutely no organising or marshalling of the defence so far from what I see, disagree all you want guys but its true. That's why him and Caulker can't play together yet and one of Gallas/Dawson has to play next to them. When we do get them paired we get the clusterfuck of a defensive line that we saw at Leeds. He should start small and learn how to organise the back four before stepping up to lead the team.

Makes me laugh this.

So many people saying.....

"he's not vocal enough" or "he's done nothing out of the ordinary" etc etc.

How the bloody hell you you know? Do you sit and watch games and count the amount of times Lennon shout's "follow number 9" to Walker?

Do you know who leads in the changing room etc.

I'll let AVB (prob dawson).

I think it will be Dawson unless Levy decides that he still has value and decides to sell him. In the event he does leave I can see avb giving it to Bale because he is inspirational.

I was thinking to myself today who would I have lead our club next season?

Keep the arm band with dawson? or give it someone who is a nailed in first 11 eg. Kaboul, Sandro, Bale, Loris all four have a greater long term picture with our club.

I love Dawson and think his a great leader, but he will be 30 years old next season and Avb hardly chose him at the start of the season. So is it time to entrust the arm band with a 22-26 year old who can lead our club for many years to come or keep it with an old horse?

I'd go with Sandro for purely footballing terms, but my heads saying maybe Loris or Kaboul.

who would you choose and why??

I'm not sure Sandro is a nailed on regular, don't get me wrong i think he is brilliant at what he does but i'm not sure he is a player that has sustained form over a long period yet to be worthy of the armband, he does have spells when he seems to lose himself still and i don't see him as a leader either ,you could argue he leads by example but don't mix up being an aggressive combative player with being a leader,

I do think the captains role is diminishing these days, but i hate it when we have a different captain in the tunnel nearly everytime we play, so for that reason alone i would pick a player who is almost certainly a regular and captains his national side..Lloris.
