I think he has a place as abackup member to a midfield 3. But I agree, in a midfield two, he's just about spent.

It has to be a player that will play every game if available.
Although I'm not a fan of keepers as captains, Lloris would be a great candidate. Has experience and is a great professional.
Vertonghen doesn't seem vocal enough, but has captained in the past, so he may be a good shout. Sandro is young but has captained Internacional and even Brazil as he always gives 100% and has a great attitude on the field.
I do think Dawson's attitude is best suited to being captain but isn't guaranteed a start after Kaboul and Vertonghen.

If fully-fit Kaboul for me. Rock at the back and been at the club long enough to have earnt it.
