Lloris - captained Lyon and France, no one else has his level of captaincy experience in the squad.

Dawson is not certain of a place nor is Parker.

We don't know yet whether Kaboul and Sandro will be the same players after serious injury.

Captaincy would be a distraction for Bale

I imagine if Sandro was captain the armband would be worn around his head and stained in blood after matches of him rampaging through opposition players.

I'd like to say Lloris but like others i'm not a fan of GK captains. I think potentially bale could step up and really begin to lead the team even more if he had the armband, failing that, leave it with Dawson.

there hasn't been an exactly unified atmosphere in french squads Lloris has captained has there? i would pick Dembele if Dawson is not on the pitch! Dembele often hustles opposing players off the ball then starts attacks by driving forward and I feel he would revel in the role of being a captain.

Again i can see him being distracted in the role as captain, far better he focuses on being our driving force than worrying about 10 other players, Bale and Dembele are what make us tick. Far rather they focused on that.

Wasn't Vertonghen captain of Ajax? He's not been very vocal for us so far though, but then King never was either.

yes, Verts was their captain

We also have these players who have been made captains:

Lloris- France
Gomes -Hoffenheim
Dempsey- USA
Caulker- England U-18's
Kaboul- France U21's
Lennon- Tottenham
Parker- Newcastle, Tottenham
Adebayor- Togo
Naughton- Sheff Unt Academy
Dawson- Tottenham
Holtby- Germany U21
Sandro- Brazil U20, Brazil (?)
Carroll- school football team at district and county level

im sure Defoe and Bale have had the armband for us at times as well, not sure if Bale has had it for Wales?
Has Brad been captain?

Parker was captain of west ham

thought he was, but didnt show up in his profile, think Caulker might have been U21 captain, but i am unsure on that one.
We seem to have plenty of players who seem to have some leader quality's in the team.

He was captain:

But I have a feeling this was one of the few occasions, as it was either Upson or Lucas Neill.

Dawson is a good captain, but he's a reserve. So it shouldn't be him.

I'd like to see Lloris as captain personally.

Benteke.

In all seriousness, I'm still saying Vertonghen, Lloris vice.
