Malaga retiring Isco's shirt number '22'... So over the top.
Insane considering he only had one great season but on the other hand he is a local boy and led them in the champions league to the quarters and lets be honest they may never be seen again

Bit of trivia on the retiring numbers subject; didn't realise Napoli retired '10' for Maradona, quite a big number to retire.

there's talk of him saving them £17m a year in wages which equates to over 300k a week. Mind boggling if true.

Something about bonuses he would be due in the last year of his contract. Now is Carlos really gone give those up easily? Be like the bit ion Goodfellas where Henry Hill is narrating "Fuck you, pay me!" to every question.

It is no secret that Juve lacked top class firepower up front. Must be very unusual to be the best team in a league and not have anyone make the top 15 goalscorers list.

Tevez should be an excellent fit for Juve's frontline (especially in the 3-5-2 system). Strong, skillfull, extremely hardworking, very difficult to overpower, great passer, reliable FK taker, and a class finisher. You would expect he'll be paired up with Llorente up front, but the flexibility of our options allows us to play a variety of formations and rotate accordingly between 4 strikers (I'm guessing we'll keep Vucinic, sell one of Matri/Quagliarella) for different scenarios.

All in all it looks very promising for Juve, and if the backline and midfield can keep up the standrad shown in the last couple of seasons, we could well be unstoppable again in Serie A, and have another go at the CL.

Like hell they'll ever get another Maradona, that's why. Cavani's the closest they'll get to a world beater again.

Partizan I'm very excited for this coming season. Finally we've added the much need stregnth to the forward line up! Really enjoying our squad depth, it's looking excellent. Champions League is once again a serious ambition!

We look likely to add Ogbonna to the defence too - Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli, Ogbonna and Caceres is fantastic.

We've had the strongest midfield and defence in the league for the past two years and now we look like we've got the strongest team completely, really happy with this window so far.

Now I hope Spurs can do the same!

I wonder if the blowback from Tevez' sale could effect Arsenal's deal for Higuain?

City have stated they won't bid the asking price for Cavani, I doubt Lewandowski is an option and Dzeko may be sold as well.

I'd much prefer City land Higuain as he would mean less to him than he would to Arsenal.

Don't worry, he'll give an interview from Buenos Aires moaning about there being too many Fiats in Turin within weeks, or some shit...

That season Pellegrini was there, higuain got 29 goals in 35 games started or 40 games played

It is also worth noting that after Perez came in, he tried to get rid of Higuain every season

It sounds reasonable. I'd imagine Pellegrini would want Higuain as he'd look to Spain for some of his targets. I'd also like to think that Higuain would much rather play at City, he can link up with his international team-mate Aguero, work under a boss who knows how players from Spain work, not have to worry about a language barrier with his coach too, and of course be paid a lot more money!

Who knows, perhaps Ancelotti might decide to keep Higuain anyway?

Official: Athletic Bilbao have confirmed the signing of Benat from Real Betis on a five-year deal for €8.5m. Presented on Thursday

Seems like a bargain to me, is there a reason why we weren't in for him?? Thought hed be the ideal player for us, seems a better fit than Paulinho and at less than half the price.

Benat was always going to Bilbao, he is Basque. He could have a couple of seasons starring there before moving to a bigger club.

They have got him very cheaply though, great bit of business.
