Dortmund have made a bid for Mkhitaryan. There was no way Liverpool were going to get a free run.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...ival-liverpool-with-195m-bid-for?ICID=HP_BN_1

"Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergie Palkin has confirmed that Borussia Dortmund have made a $30 million (£19.5m) bid for attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Last week Goal revealed the Armenian is one of Brendan Rodgers' top targets as he plans a £42 million summer splurge to bolster his squad for a Champions League charge next season.

But until now Shakhtar have insisted the Reds have made no bid for their absentee star man, although they have now placed a temporary asking price on his head.
“I don’t know where Mkhitaryan is, now; solely his agent knows this," Palkin told Terrikon.
"Borussia offered $30 million for the midfielder. I contacted Mkhitaryan’s agent yesterday. I wrote to him about the official position of the club.
"We are prepared to sell Mkhitaryan for €30m (£25m); this offer stands for the next 10 days. If Mkhitaryan wishes to leave, they have to pay this amount for him.""

That last tweet was by a journo that works for FourFourTwo.
He immediately deleted it, so ignore it i guess.

Here is where he got the quotes,

"Miner" has received an offer from Dortmund "Borussia" about the transition Henrik Mkhitaryan. It is 30 million dollars, said "Football NEWS" CEO "miners" Sergei Palkin:
- That the "Borussia" was published in contact with the "Miner" - the truth. I do not know what is now Mkhitaryan, he has his own contacts with the agent, and the agent - the vision of all issues."Borussia" sent a proposal for $ 30 million.
Yesterday, I got in touch with an agent Mkhitaryan wrote him an official position of the club. It lies in the fact that we are willing to sell Mkhitaryan 30 million euros in one payment. This offer is valid for 10 days. If there is a club ready to buy Mkhitaryan - we are ready for the conditions.

Barca must really not want to lose him, It's understandable he wants to start games with world cup nxt yr, I wonder if we put in a loan offer for a season or 2 would they b interested.. Barca get to keep him Longterm & Thiago gets gametime.
We could go with a midfield 3 of paulinho sandro & Thiago with a front 3 of bale villa Dembele,
Dreaming I know but it would b a perfectly balanced midfield 3

I would laugh if Dortmund grabbed Mkhitaryan, he's been the only name I've seen this summer that Liverpool have been after that has made me think 'good signing, I wouldn't like them to get him'. Would prefer them to have to end up shelling out money for Eriksen who is still very inconsistent and nowhere near as good at scoring goals.

For Dortmund, Mkhitaryan would be a great replacement for the Gotze void. Could Dortmund be backing off from Bernard as well ?

I'd love to see Mkhitaryan go to Dortmund over Liverpool but it seems so strange given his price and age. He's only 24, but it seems really expensive and generally goes against Dortmund's style with transfers. They don't need to overpay for talents because they are plenty capable of finding young talents and boosting their values over time.

As alluded to by Beats, if Dortmund do sign Mik it makes me wonder where Eriksen is going to end up at. The apparent paucity of clubs showing a firm interest in him is surprising given his reputation and the fact that he has only a year left on his contract.

So Perez confirms Isco joins Real subject to a medical. Good news for us in that he's a really good player we don't have to face at Citeh, and Real have at least one star signing to placate the fans and media rabid for Bale.

The Shaktar CEO is telling all kinds of lies as part of the game.

Someone who we know is very close to Mkhitaryan's camp has told us that the Dortmund offer is bollocks and even if it was true it was not enough in total or upfront so would be dismissed out of hand by Shaktar.

The Shaktar CEO should be ignored. He is also said on record that he's had no contact with anyone at LFC which I know is lied as he's had loads if discussions with us and 3 formal offers have been submitted with the last one being accepted by Shaktar (I was told this bid was 23m with 75% all up front).

It was so far advanced 10 days ago that Mkhit was booked in for a medical last Friday alongside Luis Alberto, before we found out that Shaktar didn't own all of him, which stopped the deal dead in its tracks, and was a massive shock to LFC as Shaktar had not mentioned it at all and we only found out via the players agent.

Told LFC is his preferred club but this is as much much down to what his dodgy agent wants as it is his desire.

There's a long way to go on this and it could run on and on all summer like you with Moutinho last summer, but with all the latest info I have as of now, I am 60/40 on him being a Liverpool player by Sept 1st so long as we are willing to up his fee a bit now to poss 25m which I think we will be.

I come in peace - as far as I am concerned you are welcome here and I appreciate your input.

Honest question, what do you think you will do in the transfer window and what do expect next year?? Suarez must be an issue with you.

I have only just seen this sorry I'll reply to it in the LFC thread properly tomorrow morning for you.

Apologies.

Transfer Central TNC@TransferNewsCen 3m
Official: Athletic Bilbao have confirmed the signing of Benat from Real Betis on a five-year deal for €8.5m. Presented on Thursday

Seems like a bargain to me, is there a reason why we weren't in for him?? Thought hed be the ideal player for us, seems a better fit than Paulinho and at less than half the price.

One of the best signings this summer.

Isco actually went Madrid, wow... Big blow for City and can't say I'm not glad. Wonder if the signing of Isco and hopefully Suarez will mean Madrid won't go for Bale.

Bit worried it's gone quiet on the Suarez/Madrid front, if they keep him and get Mkhitaryan that's very worrying.

Wilfried Bony to Swansea for €12m rumour is doing the rounds.

Great business if true, can't believe we weren't / aren't interested.

I'm struggling to think of a point when Real have actually seemed to be interested in that move - Suarez can't stop talking about it but they've been oddly silent. Maybe their interest is all in his head?

If this is the case I really don't see another likely suitor; mostly down to the controversy surrounding him rather than the fee putting the mega rich clubs off.

I'm really hoping the Mkhitaryan deal is dependent on Suarez departing.

Agreed! I could see Monaco coming in for him, or someone like Anzi, but suspect he's more success-oriented than money and wouldn't fancy that. The other 'big beasts' probably wouldn't touch him due to reputation, as you say.
