One more off the payroll, top defender at his best, last seen v Arsenal last season, but his injury record was a major contributor to just 140 games in 6 and a half seasons (approx. average of 20 games a season)

4 out (including Holtby who was on loan last season plus Paulhino, Capoue, and Kaboul) but 5 more to go (Adebayor, Soldado, Chiriches, Lennon and Stambouli).

Balanced by ins of Wimmer, Trippier and Toby, but also loanees coming back (or joining in the case of Yedlin and Alli) such as Pritchard, Carroll, Fredericks...

Think its mainly all the loanees are back, and in many cases will not be loaned out again which is the reason why the squad is so large. Just need to continue to get rid of the 5 'deadwood' players none of whom really need a direct replacement .- although we obviously need another striker (ideally striker/WF) and probably an experienced CM and maybe another pacy AM.

Realistically I now think we're looking at:

Lamela, Townsend, Pritchard, Chadli, Eriksen, Onomah, Oduwa

Kane, New ST, Coulthirst

That leaves Lennon, Chiriches, Stambouli, Adebayor, Fredericks, Soldado to probably go. Carroll and Townsend also possibilities for the chop depending on offers i'd imagine. If Andros was to go I think we'd look at another wing option.

I think a couple of youth players like CCV and KWP will be kept. Not sure what's going to happen with Oduwa and Onomah yet. I think Oduwa will end up out on loan again.

I'd say it's very likely that Yedlin and Milos will go out on loan too.

Windy's assumed (for the purposes of his article) that we keep anyone not yet sold (Adebayor, Soldado, Chriiches, Stambouli and Lennon for example), whereas OP assumes we sell or loan them out - or maybe include some of those not sold in the squad but one or two of them may not get squad numbers.

Poch said he wanted a smaller squad. 22 would be 2 for every position backed up by academy. Which would make sense.

Its not as if, with outfield positions, you can move someone in to cover if need be (ie Bentaleb at left back) - and don't say Kane in goal!!!!

Not worried at all.

Vorm will most likely start the season, even with a few reports saying Hugo might be fit i am not we would risk it with out a few weeks to make sure the injury has fully healed and is strong enough.

3rd choice keeper will get very little if any game time, and im not sure we will sign anyone that is a huge improvement on McGee that will want to come and be a 3rd choice keeper.

If the coaching staff think McGee is ready, them I would rather see him given the chance

i agree but only I he is in fact ready, I think we need three keepers that if push came to shove we'd be happy starting in the first team (at least in cups/europa). If that is McGee then great, all for bring through our own, I just haven't seen enough (and also very inexperienced) to know if he could step up if required. We all know by now that the rigours of Europa means our squad needs a little extra depth.
