Our striking situation is just hilarious.

Think it really is.

Surely we must have the most impotent strikers in the league yet it doesn't seem to be hampering us just yet!. With the likes of The truly world class Bale and Vertonghen compensating for the two numpties up front and as long as this continues I am actually going to laugh at the worst strike force in the league. Who's with me?!

I'm actually gonna support our whole team, and hopefully one if not both of them will start banging 'em in just when we really need them to.

With Bale playing as a striker as he has been for a couple of months now our options are good, Adebayor is the perfect decoy partner for him.

Decoy? Bloody hell, talk about dressing things up. Our strikers are being carried. We are extremely lucky the our defenders and midfielders are finding the net. Adebayor is falling way short and any other way of apologising for his lack of goals is blindness to the obvious. It's difficult to support someone who looks so bloody half-hearted.

I was being nice to Ade referring to him being a decoy

Not just Ade. Defoe too.

Defoe kind of gets left off the hook imo with all the bashing going on Ade.

One league goal between them in 2013 (and Ade got that one). That is shit by any standards!

The ade bashing, though justified, feels harsh. BUT, watching the highlights on MOTD, Bale had a chance to make it 3 i think, where he screwed the shot just past the post. On the replay from behind the goal, you can see Ade just ambling behind him. No attempt to make space, or to look for a pass. That for me was shocking.

Ive always wanted him ahead of Defoe, but now im not so sure.

I thought that chance (Bale hitting the post) was actually Defoe not getting into position? I could be wrong though.

Anyone care to admit that Redknapp was wrong to sell Pav and Bent? I might give you Bent because he's struggling to get into the Villa team but I think Pav would have buried some of those chances yesterday.

I wish AVB was a bit bolder and dropped both strikers and played Dempsey as a striker. I think he'd do better in the box because he has shown great movement and that will create a lot of goals alone. Keane was an expert and scored a ton of goals with clever movement.

Long term though, we need two top quality strikers. Adebayor, Defoe and Crouch were bad buys

Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

Who doesn't remember Pav being equally shit in front of goal?!

We should be looking at upgrading on ALL of the above.

Even if they're the best of a bad bunch that's better than the worst of a bad bunch. Anyway we never gave either a proper go so we never got a chance to see what they could have done with a run in the team

And then in 6 months we're seeing the same posts.

And we saw enough to see they weren't good enough.

Looking at the match on Saturday (Swansea), I think we looked better with Ade in the team than Defoe. Yes, he's not playing well but he does occasionally hold the ball up for our midfielders to get into the game. I think it's a case of grin and bare it untill the end of the season until we can do something about it.
