You have to question how much will be left in the kitty disregarding any sales revenue. I would imagine not much but hope I'm wrong and the warchest which was alluded to is real.

Scolari hasn't confirmed that he's close, just that he won't be playing against Italy.

I'm sure there is a plan that allows us enough funds to strengthen we're we need to.

Good thing is he's spent a couple of years in Europe before as a young player, so at least he's not entirely green regarding leaving Brazil.

His wiki has some choice quotes actually:

He is well known for his extreme levels of mental toughness and also his aerial prowess
Paulinho is a box-to-box midfielder who "is a strong and powerful runner, pushing his side forward from midfield to supplement his fine defensive work. Paulinho also offers a useful presence in set piece situations at both ends of the pitch

Stoke ain't no thang when you've played in the Lithuanian 1st division at 17

Well, Levy wont be breaking the bank that is for sure. But I think he has been saving what we have not been spending and waiting for a manager he can trust with the players brought at such a price.

I think we have more money than we are lead to believe, Levy is not stupid.

I just think he was waiting for the right manager to come along.

I would think we can always afford to buy any player whose value is likely to increase or stay the same.

What a great signing this bloke would be. Compare him with Hudd & Parker. I'm optimistic but could do with some real solid ITK now saying that it's definitely happening.

You'll be there a few days I think. Maybe even until after the Confeds Cup. ;)

A shame all our strikers might be in their 30's.

I don't think this will be the case, the lack of ITK over the weeks indicates that we are going after some good names and getting there. If we sign Paulinho, you can bet there will be strikers who would be willing to come to. Spurs buy major Brazilian international... Not heard of, not to mention Sandro telling them how great we are as a club and AVB and Baldini... Well we are just class really, we don't have money like ManC, but we have class and an awful lot of it.

I believe we are going to get 2 young strikers in and Leandro is definitely not out of the picture yet.

IF, I say IF, we signed Paulinho it would just be great that we identified a top player, and then went and signed him.

After the Moutinho and Damaio sagas, it almost feels alien to me.

Thnking about the fact that Brazil could be starting a home World Cup next year with two Spurs players in the engine room of midifeld makes me a little moist. #Sandro&Paulinho

Yeah, he played also in ŁKS Łódź, and their stadium looks like this:

His agent threw him there, so he could make his name in Europe and eventually end up in Premier League via Poland and then Germany, but Paulinho's girlfriend was expecting a baby, so he came back to Brasil.

Yeah, I mentioned this a few days ago. Our biggest "sway" for Paulinho could have easily been Sandro.

Think about it... Sandro and Paulinho could play together for their club in 2013/14 and then for Brazil in the WC. Scolari would have to LOVE that and I'm sure he'll be telling Paulinho that.
