We definitely need 1 striker but if you gave me the option of having 2 strikers or 2 midfielders, I'd probably take the 2 mids. Not sure Paulinho would be one though. He's excellent but a Dembele upgrade isn't exactly a priority.

Agree, two strikers seems a little pointless as only one of them is going to be mostly playing for us.

One new striker plus keep Adebayor seems like the better option. Also IF we manage to spend a bit of cash on a striker then it's never going to be more than say £18-20m. The chance of getting two of these is almost zero.

Whereas I think we'll get a much better midfielder than striker for £15m.

Paulinho turned down Inter in January, would be strange for him to sign for them now right as other clubs are becoming interested.

Well, if Inter want Paulinho, they'll need to drop their asking price for Guarin so they have the funds for the Brazilian, because they ain't got the mega cash these days...one of the two will be at Spurs is my hunch, and I reckon it'll be Guarin but at considerably less than the 25m Inter are quoting.

Maybe Inter have agreed to sell Guarin to us or someone else, hence them looking for a replacement?

Don't care, I want to see Spurs sign him (in 4yo voice, no foot stomp yet). He looks a very talented player with drive and strength. Clearly he's not a pussy, so that's something that Spurs can use -- C'mon DL, bring him on in!!

:playful:

Vibe here is that Inter and Spurs are going to meet Paulinho's buyout clause and it will be down to the player. No pre-contract with Inter

Keeping fingers crossed, but Inter (serie A) attracts a lot more south american players than Spurs (prem),... staying positive though. Maybe the AVB/Sandro draw too strong for him to deny :ninja:

We have Bale, and Inter is not a CL club anymore (even not in Europa), optimistic, but you know everything can go worse in Spurs

Agreed, hopefully he'll choose us. We also have European football, London and a certain mr Bale to offer in our favour.

Sandro, Paulinho and Dembele in the midfield three.

From what I've read about his game (and it is based on that admittedly) the prospect makes me drool.

Injuries and form covered by Livermore, Holtby, Huddlestone, and Carroll. Deuce as an emergency Dembele if necessary.

The back's already more than decent. Put a quality striker up ahead to go in between Bale & Siggy, and we've got a solid top three team on our hands.

ETA: I've modified my signature accordingly!

BREAKING - #THFC are strong favorites to sign Paulinho according FabrizioRomano who said he lied to Shakhtar president to scare him off.

I f*cking love Fabrizio Romano (WHO?) if that is true :ROFLMAO:

Almost certainly isn't, but you know, we can dream.

"Paulinho has a pre-contract with Inter." I said to surprise the director general of Shakhtar Donetsk, Sergey Palkin. But there is no record of any kind. For the Corinthians midfielder has shown no signs with Inter, nor a pre-existing contract. Filter only denials, Shakhtar leaked this version of events because it was the same Paulinho to refuse to Ukraine, as well as proposals from Russia. Matter of preference, the Brazil midfielder like other destinations, like Tottenham who remains in pole position and Paulinho very interested in at this time. By Shakhtar was born so this voice of a pre-contract already signed, but with Inter there are no written agreements. The relations between the entourage of Paulinho and the Nerazzurri are still good, if you wanted to turn on him and try later with a suitable financial player does not will struggle, but - at least until now - the Inter is dealing concretely on this front. Neither did sign on Paulinho any contract. While the Brazilian is the protagonist in the Confederations Cup and concentrate on the national team - with Tottenham who insists - waiting to know his future.

How do we know this guy isn't just making this up and is a WUM? sorry to be cynical.

He does usually tweet links to quotes/info afterwards as he's often asked for a source. Give him a bit of time.

Does seem to sensationalise everything though. Definitely making the most of his Tottenham followers.
