Totally forgot about this. Our last month of the season and probably one of the biggest months in our history. We secured 4th place with wins over Bolton (1-0 at home) and Man City (1-0 away) but then lost to Burnley 2-4 away in our last game.

Gareth Bale continuted his unbelievable record and won the POTM poll for the 4th month in a row. But April was the first month he didn't run away with it and Gomes pushed him a bit. Here are top 5:

1. Gareth Bale - 32 votes (45.07%)
2. Heurelho Gomes - 16 votes (22.54%)
3. Michael Dawson - 10 votes (14.08%)
4. Luka Modric - 8 votes (11.27%)
5. Ledley King - 1 vote (1.41%)

Voters: 71

Player of the month:
May: ?
April: Gareth Bale (45.07%)
March: Gareth Bale (72.00%)
February: Gareth Bale (79.87%)
January: Gareth Bale (81.53%)
December: Michael Dawson (35.86%)
November: Niko Kranjcar (73.28%)
October: Heurelho Gomes (69.17%)
September: Peter Crouch (15.79%)
August: Aaron Lennon (27.19%)

Kaboul - Excellent against Bolton and provided a real attacking threat down the flank, set up the all important goal at Eastlands and generally had a good game and kept Bellamy quiet. Didn't have a great game at Burnley but then again neither did anyone else really.

Actually, just remembered that great ball for Lennon to run onto for Bale's goal, so he yeah I'll stick with Younes.

Definitely King. His involvement in the Bolton and City games was priceless. Agree with brett though, Kaboul was a very good shout. Only POTM in recent months Bale wont run away with!

Yep voted King as well, brilliant performances and managed to play 3 games in a week when we needed him most. Kaboul a close second though, thought he was excellent against Bolton and City.

Pop over to the Right/Wrong thread and most there claim they were wrong to think Hudd was not going to do much this season .

I'm surprised that Hudd isn't the player of the month in this poll ...yes he's been very poor this month...but his form doesn't seem to count for anything anymore . Its generally accepted ,regardless of what he does , that he's superman .

No sign of him anywhere in the players of the month list I notice .I hope he does eventually get as good as he's believed to be on SC ,but the hype he's had is over the top imo.

Gomes player in May for me .

Went for King too, like many people.

He put himself through it for us this month, 4 games in a 15 day spell? (some of it in April!)

But still, King was superb for us. A reminder, if anyone needed one, of what he's capable of. Top class.

Kaboul a close second. With Dawson in there too.

Not sure what your point is to be honest. No one has said Hudd is 'superman' just that he's improved a fair bit and currently deserves his place in the side, also how has he been poor this month? Had a very good game against Bolton and topped that off with a great goal(a massively important one at that) and a good performance against City.

If you check the match ratings threads then Hudd very rarely get's the credit he deserves. Actually, your description relates more to Wilson than it does to Hudd.

Could of gone for Kaboul or Gomes, but Ledley just edged it for me.

Gomes - a class act. Important saves at vital times in evry match in the last month. And greatly missed against Burnley

We only played 3 games in May and as they were all poor against Burnley I gave it to dawson as he was good in both the Bolton & city games.
